This is the deal...I am going to post. Then when I am finished, if ANYONE feels compelled to do so, write. I am going for a cooperation of many authors' ideas until we feel that the story is finished.

I would ask that: 1) Take this relatively seriously. We want a decent Star Wars story, not just someone throwing in song lyrics, or suddenly Beetlejuice pops up and kills everyone, [this is not RPG people ;)].

    2) Continuity, consistancy, and respect. Let's just keep it flowing, draw on others' ideas. If you see someone going in a good direction, take that signal and go! If an idea of plot is going sour, do something about it but, you know, just be nice.

That is all. Thank you all for indulging me. I hope this goes well; Should be fun, anyway!

    Title: Reciprocity
    Author(s): Anyone
    Timeframe: 2500 BBY
Characters: Anyone in this time frame.
    Genre: We'll see!
    Keywords: Co-op.
Summary: This is the story where I'll post, then someone else will pick up where I left off, et cetera.
    Notes: nope.

Black. In all the infinite vastness of space all there is is black as far as any eye, human or otherwise, can see.

Figures, thought Tikal, as he sat, slumped in the pilot's chair in the cockpit of his ship. He had only been waiting out here for two, no, three hours now, however, after what he had just left, more darkness was the last thing he wanted to see.

Tikal was confused. A day before, he had escaped Kessel, Force knows how. He was used to the darkness of the mines, but he despised it. More than the bad food, the energy spiders, or the cruel guards, he hated it. The mysterious stranger who had helped him out of the prison itself and into the private dock of the facility had also escaped.

    Well, almost.

Anyone who had ever got on the bad side of their resident warlord or king, or even a Hutt knows of Kessel. The spice mines profit as well as they do because hardly anyone who works there gets paid. Tikal sure didn't. Neither did the stranger who somehow got him out.

After evading the ground-based batteries along the facility, Tikal slave-linked the controls of his ship to those of the strangers. Miraculously, and with a skill he had rarely seen in a pilot, the stranger successfully navigated the ridiculous cluster of black holes, also known as the Maw, into what they thought was safety.

    They were wrong.

As chance would have it, a suppy ship and its escort of four heavily modified frieghters of seemingly random make were about to make their way into the Maw to intercept the two fugitives. Tikal and the stranger evaded and ran as best and as fast they could but the frieghters' were simply faster and deadlier.

"You must live. That is all that I know to be true," was the last thing the stranger said to him over an open comm channel before he was destroyed. I agree, thought Tikal, as he punched in coordinates into his Navicomputer. Without a second thought to his savior, he savored the starlines as he vanished into the oblivion of hyperspace...

so can we just take this anywhere? it sounds fun... I'll give it a shot. If you think that anything seems out of place, let me know, and I'll edit, kk?

    ....

Moia crouched in the back of the small ship. She didn't know where she was. She didn't know where she was going. She just knew she had escaped Kessel.

Born and raised there, she had never known anything but the dark tunnels, the sting of energy whips and the cold ache that spread through her body.

Her mother had died soon after Moia was born, and she had been kept in a cage until she was big enough to start working. She had no idea whatsoever who her father was. Probably one of the guards.

Moia felt the ship lurch and knew that she had entered hyperspace. So this is what it felt like. So many pirates and smugglers had spoken longingly of that feeling, the slight tugging on their bodies, the pressure. The beautiful lines of the stars. Slowly Moia stood. She might as well make herself known to the pilot. Maybe he wouldn't kill her right away.

She made her way to the cockpit. "Um... hi."

The next thing she knew, a blaster was pointed at her face.

    ....

In the depth of his lonliness, Tikal thought of Moia; how it must have seemed to her that he had betrayed her, but he did not! Oh no, he was desperate to save her that day, the day he met his mysterious stranger who led him to freedom only to meet his own doom. Surely she would realize, she would know that he did what he did for their sake and not only his own. After all, he was not just some mercenary hutt-slime punk ...

Moia shoved the blaster out of her face. It wasn't the pilot after all. Just a blaster attached to some dead guy's body. Why was this person keeping dead guys in his ship anyway?

Slowly she crept towards the cockpit.

    and stopped in shock.

    It was Tikal.

    "Tikal?"

He spun around, hastily wiping the glimmering tears off of his face. "Moia?"

Then she was in his arms, and he was kissing her head. "I didn't want to leave you, Moia, it all happened so fast."

Moia hugged him tighter. "I know. We'll be okay now. It's all going to be fine."

When they finally parted from their embrace, Tikal wiped Moia's still moist cheek.

"How did you sneak on? I sealed the ship the moment I was in the cockpit!"

"During the firefight, I snuck onto this one, before you even stole it! I had no idea you would take this one!"

"Talk about some luck," said Tikal.

Moia jokingly snapped, "Space your luck! This was fate and you know it. How many times have I told you that we would find each other again?"

Tikal chuckled lightly, kissed her head again and shoved her into the copilot's chair.

"Well, it's time to get our heads in the game. My contact should be here within the next hour. We need to have his item handy."

Moia turned her head slowly untill Tikal could practically feel her stare. "You have it? Here?!?"

Tikal grinned. "Of course. You really think I was gonna leave it for Drace and his men to find? You must be joking."

Moia stared at him like a wampa grew out of his right ear. "This is going to be interesting..."

Moia watched Tikal out of the corner of her eye. She still couldn't believe her luck... no... that her fate would be so kind to her.

And he had it! He had the item he was supposed to bring to the man he was currently hired from.

For some reason Tikal had been assigned to work with her on Kessel, and even stranger, had decided to confide in her.

Moia had feelings for him... but wasn't sure if he returned them, and so, had kept her mouth shut. She was just glad that they were together again... and were on their way to make some credits.

Ujio Nignta gazed outside into the nothingness of hyperspace through the viewport of his ship, the Wraith's Blessing with a look of absolute satisfaction: through the Force he could percieve the growing uncertaninty of the Twi'lek female to his side, despite his many assurances that everything was going according to his masters' plans. Not that she, Kylalar, had any idea what those plans really were, that did not matter. What mattered was her loyalty, for as long as he had her loyalty, and he would indeed, he also had her ship, well, his ship as far as he was concerned, and crew.

A Jedi survey ship was passing through the Anzat system from Ossus when they came across the Wraith in the middle of a business transaction with an unfortunate Nikto smuggler and his crew. Ujio had obtained passage on the Nikto corvette and was on the bridge helping, hm, negotiate his passage onto the Wraith when the Jedi boarded. Naturally, when he approached the Jedi and four minutes later had slaughtered them, he sucessfully bartered his way onto Kylalar's ship. He further ensured their loyalty by eliminating, single-handedly, the entire Nikto crew and taking everything of value. Two months later, he was the de facto leader of the Wraith's Blessing.

Kylalar normally would've been killed as soon as he boarded. This would have served two ends: one, the Jedi must have no knowledge of his whereabouts and she was a witness. Two, it would have made him the actual leader of the crew and owner of the ship.

    But he wouldn't. He couldn't.

There was something about her that he just could not see. Maybe he just wouldn't let himself see. Despite her physical appeal, typical of most female Twi'leks which was nothing short of astonishing, she had a drive about her; a courageous loyalty that intrigiued him to an end that he would not let himself explore. And she is not even attuned to the Force!

He forced himself to remember that she is a pawn and nothing more. Besides, being seen as a second-in-command would also serve his needs to not draw unwanted attention to himself, which is one of his masters' most strict tenants. The one time he broke that one, the one time...

"We're two minutes to our reversion point, sir," said the human male at the helm.

The time was nigh. Soon the artifact would be in his hands after all these centuries! Surely the Force was with him today.

    One side of it anyway...

"Tikal," Moia said, "we have a ship coming out of hyperspace...some kind of old Dreadnaught, off the starboard bow."

"Well, I didn't expect a ship of this size," Tikal said nervously. "Although I knew they certainly had some credits in their pockets."

"Not to worry," Moia remarked, "We'll get paid, I'm sure."

    "We?"

Moia shot him a dirty look, "Yes, we! You and I are in this together."

Tikal started to reply but the comm tranciever buzzed in and a low male voice spoke: "Unidentified frieghter, power down your weapons, lower your sheilds, and prepare for immediate dock."

Tikal and Moia peered through the viewport and the massive ship approaching. "Well, let's get to business," said Tikal.

Moia stared out the viewport at the rapidly approaching dreadnaught. She felt nervous... something felt wrong here, and she couldn't place her finger on it.

Glancing over at Tikal, she noticed he looked nervous too.

    'What is going on here?'

Their ship was dragged into the docking bay, and as Moia saw the armed droids surrounding her ship, she knew her instincts had been right...
