Vader Plug and Playwas there too.

Excellent thread!! I really need information, I'm always looking for things to buy but sometimes I don't have time to go to all the stores. I live in squirrel hill, so the closest stores are those at waterfront. I usually go to the century mall III, to walmart and TRU, but it's really far, also Robinson Town is really far. And yes, I like to collect almost everything about SW, though, sometimes it's hard to buy EVERYTHING but I try!

 

I just foudn teh IG-88 Gentle Giant bust at Suncoast at Sout Hills Village last night.

It was $39.99+tax. I used my Replay rewards dollards (In store membership) and got it for free! (Well there was the taxe to pay, but still...)

Not a bad sculpt at all. I'm not really excited about the character of IG-88, but I do collect the busts. This one has a detachable left "hand" and the blaster and rifle are also seperate from the bust that you can choose to display.

The number for mine is somewhere in the 3K range of 5K. (can't remember off hand)

It has a decent paint deco.

All in all I'd give it a 4.5 out of 5 Holocrons.

Oh and if you haven't found the C-3PO bust yet either, they still had one left. (That's a great bust. Nothing detahcable, but is spot on in likeness) Only 8K were produced of this one.

I went yesterday to waterfront to buy my clonewars DVD, which is great. But I also saw the Grievous' Wheelbike, and several products, I bought a vader chupa chups, there is a chewie also. The Cheez-it products, some m&m's product which I'm not sure the name, kudos I think. Another kellogs' product, like a fruit candies.

Then I went to giant eagle and they have on sale the m&m's medium packs (well, in fact i'm not sure if the medium packs are the only ones of SW). They have them at $1.88. And they have another cereal where you can get an R2 bowl.

I was looking at the pic you have about the m&m's dolls or figures, I don't know how to call them, and they are GREAT!, how can I get them?

Wow, Lucas really is slapping the SW logo on any product that he can get his hands on, isn't he. I saw the frosted mini wheat character holding a lightsaber on that ceral box.

I am very excited that I finally came across some baby SW stuff. At Hot Topics (I love that store) they had SW onsies. For young Nicholas, I got the gray one with Yoda on front, with the words "Size Matters Not" and for young Bethany, I got the black one with a cartoon Vader head that says "Who's your Daddy" (inside joke about my brother-in-law)

As for the MM figures. I would also love to have the MMs in SW costume, but I haven't heard that they are really going to be produced (anyone else know anything about this?) So I figure I'll just pick up a couple of the MM guys and custome them myself. Specifically a green MM Qui and a blue MM Padawan Obi.

I just saw at rebelscum the list of walmart stores that are going to participate on the special weekend, but I'm not sure if those in pennsylvania are near here. I think they aren't near, unfortunately, although I really don't know the addresses here. (The only thing I know for sure is that I live in pittsburgh).

As to the Wal*Marts, no there are none really close to us that are doing the "48 hours of the Force" thing. As to their "early-bird" special, supposedly it's yet another Vader figure case. This time packed with an Anakin and Clonetrooper figure. While I'd want the Clone trooper fig, I have no need for yet another Figure case or Anakin fig. Besides, it's not worth the $30 for that set. (And no GC, I'm not getting this for the club raffle-I'm not paying in essence $30 for 1 lone clonetrooper)

Also, for thsoe NOT going to Wal*Mar..cough GC cough..bring their Ad into TRU and/or Target and they should price match it. W*M is selling figs for only $5.24, as opposed to $5.99 at the other places. (Unless you were lucky enough to get the "$1 off each figure" promotion that Target is having.

Wal-Mart is evil. Yeah, its frustrating that there are Wal-Mart exclusives that I miss out on, but its my small, insignificant thumbing of my nose at a giant corporate evil machine. Of course, NEA (the national teacher's union) has also called for a boycott of Wal-Mart, so maybe its not so insignificant.

The Emperor Pez? I know I saw one at Toys R Us in Monroeville last week along with all the other Pez. I didn't get it, although I got some of the other Pez. I did pick up many silly little candy items, like the liquid candy lightsabers and the 'crazy hair' candy (and I was able to snag the display box). They also had the giant Pez of Vader and Yoda, but I just couldn't see spending $20 each for them.

I did however pick up the very odd "Ultimate Villian" set, that has a 12" Anikan along with a Vader costume and burned face that you can put on the Ani doll. Twisted. Very Twisted.

 

GC. if you see the Giant Yoda again, can you pick it up for me? Pretty please.

Oh, and you got lucky with the Anakin/Vader. It's not supposed to be out yet. I saw the exact same one on Saturday at the Monroeville TRU on my way up to Em's mom's for Easter-perhaps that's the one you got. I didn't get it. Trying to save what money I can for C3. Besides, this should be readily available come next week and for months to come...who knows, I might even wait for it to clearance....(If I can use my willpower to stay away from the Darkside that is collecting NEW SW stuff.) Ha ha ha.

Dont forget that 4/2 is also the official
release-date for *ALL* the books. I.e. the
novelization, audio and comic renditions,
Art of EpIII, Making of EpIII, Incredible Cross-
Sections, etc.

The hardback will stick around for a while. It
will be for sale everywhere. Ive noticed the
audio-renditions sell-out rather quick (I think they
underproduce these).

FYI - The comic book(s) of Ep3 are already available
at GiantEagle/Borders/BnNs. [for all us weak-minded
fools ;-) ]

I was a little dissapointed that the clones are from the same models like those from AOTC. But the other robot like spider, I forgot the name, is really impressive.

Yeah, I'm a little bummed about the "new" 3-packs as well.

It looks like they just swapped helmets with the previous ones. If that's so then they (Hasbro) really cheaped out on this one.

There are some clear differences between armor from the AOTC clones and the ROTS clones. Aside from the helmet, the one most notable to me is the knee pad/armor. It's a diamond shape for the AOTC clones while the top point has been squared off for the ROTS version.

I'll still get those sets, but I REALLY hope they start these off cheap. Say $9 or $10. I mean really, if they are using the same crappy hardly articulated molds and just helmet swapping, then they can't really justify a $15 pricepoint as they tried to with the Clone Wars run of clone 3-packs.

As for the other stuff updated, heack yeah! Most of that stuff looks sweet!

the next four figs:
Clonetrooper-(different in some way from the one out now) is a definite army builder
Neimodian Warrior-shoot, I dont' care if we only se a couplt of these guys in the movie, I'm going to get at least 20 of them. Only thing I don't like is the massive rifle (with projectile shooting no less)
New Wookiee Warrior-Okay, I'll get some of these, but I already don't like the paint job on this one. So I'll probably get a half dozen and repaint most of them. Hopefully the bandoliers can be swapped with the ones form the sneak preview wave, so it can look like you have different variations.
Destroyer Droid-Meh, I'm only getting one to keep carded. This looks like the very same lame-o Saga version. I only got one of those as well. Not at all excited about that figure. I'll wait til it goes on clearance before I buy it.
Commander Bacara-Oh how sweet! This guy looks like a bad (censored) clone! (Yes, I censored it myself). The variant armor makes him look like one mean (censored again).
Anakin Skywalker Battle damaged-Now this is what a fig should do! Well we will just ave to see if the real thing lives up to it's pictures. But this is a definite MUST buy, IMHO.
Stass Allie on BARC speederbike-Well, I already have the BARC bike, but this is a good likeness of Stass. Only if she is articulated will this be a hit. Otherwise, I foresee it being a DUD. I'll get one and report on it later.
Dwarf Spider Droid-Finally a nice upgrade. The nose gun is bigger and comes ready to launch a projectile. While I don't like that action for a 3 3/4 fig, this particular toy is more a deluxe fig and can handle a projectile due to it's size. I'm looking to get a half dozen or so.
Crab Droid-DROOL!!! This is AWESOME! Heck of a design. Not neccessarily practical, but very cool. Have to wait to hear more about it and what it can do, but I can guarantee you I'll buy a couple of them. SWEET!

Hey here's something interesting. I was playing around with the Squad Builder program that comes with the Attacktix starter set (yeah I bought some ). It lists 65 figs, but there are only around 36 that I counted on the checklist! Since there are so many extras, I can only assume they are planned for future release and not random chase figs.
Figs of interest: Bossk, Leia, Luke, Han, Destroyer Droid, Jango, Kit Fisto, R2, Maul, Royal Guard, Boba and a Mega fig Republic Gunship!
I really like these and am waiting to try them out. My only beef with them is the saber/swinger figs should have been made so they are facing forward when at rest instead of off to the side.

 

Finally got my holo-Yoda figure at the Monroeville TRU and they are taking the one per very seriously. To get the fig you have to take you receipt to the service desk, the person there writes 'free Yoda' on the receipt. But it does look very cool and I'm excited to finally get it.

Twins,Liz and I went to Target after the meeting and found the SW ceral boxes, one with Yoda and one with Vader. Also more MMs stuff. Light up toy lightsabers with minimms in the hilt. Both Stacie and Liz were very disappointed that theirs were filled with the 'wookie' mix and not the 'lava' mix. Hmmm. Should I be worried?

Also at Target were SW beach towels, flannel throw blankets and camp chairs. Although tempted by the towels and blankets, I only picked up the Jedi camp chair.

Wow, there is just so much out there. I'm trying not to pick up stuff I know will end up on sale or on clearance, but the addiction is strong
