[NEWS] Del Rey to announce upcoming new title at Comic-Con 2007

Stuff like the Star Wars Encyclopedia is a waste of money anyway, since it becomes outdated immediately after the release of whatever comes after it.

So what was the big news? Something we already knew, or something new?

 

The coolest thing they showed us was the picture of a fan dressed as Darth Nihilius.

 

I don't care what they intended it to be. This is the big, exciting announcement.

 

I hope it's Mace Windu still alive. I'm sorry, folks... what happened in ROTS is no way for the #2 Jedi Master in the Order to go down.

 

It's Lorn Pavan's kid. I forget his name; Jix or something.

 

And underground P.I. work is exactly what he'd do if he'd survived.

 

I kind of agree, but if part of his remit was also investigating exactly what happened at the Jedi Temple and dodging Jedi hunting parties than I could sort of buy it.

However, Corsucant is either the best or worse place for a Jedi to be post-Purge.

 

This is the big announcement? What a bummer, we've known about this book for how long now?

 

Wasnt there supposed to be something mentioned about the TV show, too ?

 

Jax, actually, and that is probably the most underwhelming announcement this year.

The more I hear about this series the more it fits my pre-established mental image of it, and the more I love it.

Nobody said it was. Except Havac, who was just expressing his excitement. (And quite rightly, I say!)

All the same, an "exclusive" announcement shouldn't have fans scratching their heads and wondering what the announcement actually was. Probably not the intended effect. (Though the promise did encourage people to attend, so in that immediate sense, it technically succeeded.) My (entirely uneducated) guess is that it's just carelessly worded hype; a promotional writer underestimating the intense level of scrutiny such an ambitious statement can attract.

 

Actually, I was thinking that Coruscant Nights sounds like some cheesy TV show.

 

to me, Coruscant Nights brings to mind that song from Aladdin: Arabian Nights

Mr. McEwok! In the article on the main page, you mention that Shadows of Mindor is due for February '08 --- back in March, Sue let us know that it had been pushed back to October of 2008. Keep on fighting the good fight!
