Ark Next meeting; June 3..in conjunction with Movie Night at the home of the VIce President

Hey! Since everyone hasn't met some of the new people, I figured we might get together and catch a movie or something.
Ideas and suggestions are welcome.....
Otherwise, I'll just come up with something myself.

Kynstar, ForceConduit, Ramon, and I will be at the Rave on Friday evening
to see the 9 o'clock hour showing of the Fog. Anyone else who wants to come
is welcome to come and join in the fun...

OK People. We need to get some group by-laws and other organizational type things organized so that we can get this group up and going and growing...So, we will have a meeting on Saturday, November 19 at 7pm. Here's the catch. as to where we want to meet...need some suggetstions...The deal is, we're going to move meetings around from Jacksonville, North Little Rock, Little Rock, etc...so that nobody has to drive a long way each time. So, if you have a suggestion, or want to open your home, just post something on here. If nothing gets put up I'll just pick some random restaurant or something like that for this meeting.

We need as many people as possible at this meeting...this will establish the way we're going to elect officers and run the group in the coming year.

Who decided we were having a meeting?

That Saturday isn't good for me as my Sister and her husband are coming into town that day and will be here through Thanksgiving weekend.

I vote that we plan something in Early December, between the holidays but before things get too crazy--maybe an AGR Christmas Party, with enough time for people to plan for it.

My house would be open for an early December date.

I can't get it answered in the corresponding thread, so maybe I will try it here. What the hell is Toy Hill?

 

As soon as the details are ironed out let me so I can post it.

 

I would LOVE to have you guys over here, but I'm pretty sure that would be a disaster trying to get everyone signed on base...I can make it on the 19th or early December, you guys let me know...

We have decided to have monthly meetings...That date is not this weekend, it's next weekend...
If we do have a early December thing, then we will set that up at the meeting.
Basically we are trying to get some by-laws ironed out before we hit the one year date and need to have new ones
(That is in February)
I will be going to California for my masectomy in December and then having high dose radiation and chemo so January is an unknown entity...
So, we are going for a November meeting and then perhaps a Christmas thing would be good...Maybe the same Saturday as the Toy Thing??
Dodge, since you have offered your humble abode, why don't you put a date out there for a "Christmas thing/ meeting"
Perhaps we can kick around ideas at the November thing
and then get them all ironed out in December,
then we can have them ready in January for February...

 

Choices for a meeting location

Here's the choices...
Barnes and Noble, cafe area in Little Rock, or North Little Rock.
Or the Hastings cafe area in Jacksonville.

Put in your choices now and the one with the most votes...
will be this months meeting location

They will float around monthly so the same folks aren't having to drive each month.

Any and all there all just as bad for me but Ill make it. Heck cant grip I didnt give a suggestion for a meeting place so wich ever is decided Ill be there.

I am partial to the Jax Hastings, but I can make it anywhere ya'll have it.

 

If there is a better meeting place, throw something out there...
We just need to have it staked down by Friday so I can get some flyers
printed and up at local bookstores, comic stores, and game stores....

Ok Nyborg, which is closer for you...Jacksonville or North Little Rock? If I don't hear from you by this evening we'll just go with North Little Rock, and I'll see if I can get a wireless connection that works there.( I think that you have to pay for theirs) but, that way, those that can't come can possibly participate on-line??? It's just a thought.
And I really don't need to have too many of those, they make my head hurt.

I'm sorry I won't be able to make it; it's a friend's birthday and I'm surprising her with a concert with Mark Lowry in Little Rock. I'm not one for driving very far (as it is, we're riding the chapel bus out there, thank goodness to no end!!!), but I would've made it to Barnes and Noble. I will be available in December as late as Saturday the 10th as long as it isn't too late in the evening; my plane leaves a quarter after 9 the next morning. If something's going on the 10th (as close to Jacksonville as possible), I'd love nothing more than to close out 2005 here in Arkansas with all of you.

At the founding of this group, we didn't specify requirements for running for office...
So, for this year, we are going to keep our current President (CR) (We vote Nyborg emergency powers for one more year and Kynstar seconded, (she Jar Jared it...) and fill in the positions that we decide are neccessary for the "load" to be more equally spread out amongst those willing to help out.

We are going to work on creating a set of by-laws and decide on what positions we need to fill.

There should be a rough draft workshop at the January meeting.

Date to be anounced in mid December.

If you have a date that is not good for you, post it on this link or put it on the calendar.

If you have an "issue" that you want to bring up...
Bring it up at the December game night.
A rough draft will be ready to view and edit at the January meeting.
So, Let me know if there is a time or day in Januray that you don't want to have a meeting (you know, let me know if you're going to be out of town...that sort of thing)
And the February meeting will be adopt a final draft of by-laws.
I don't want to turn this into a group of rules and regulations...
Just set up some basic guidelines so that as we grow, we can just focus on the fun and be able to fall back on the by-laws if there are any problems that come up.
