I'll say classics first. The prequels will make more sense that way. Plus it's the way they were made...

Funny you should post this. I've been thinking about it for the past few days. I think I would show them the Classics first, but it's a close call.

i think id go from ANH to TPM, then ESB, then AOTC, then ROTJ and then EP3...

    just to be different...

or so they can get confused until ESB...

you see luke and old ben...

then you see anakin and obi wan...

then come ESB, they'll figure out whats going on maybe...

then they can see AOTC to see more about anakin and his eventual fall towards the dark side...

then ROTJ to see how the empire is destroyed,

then EP3 to see how the empire rose to power...

Prequels, then Classics. That way, they don't already know half of the story of the prequels like all of us. It makes them more exciting.

I think starting with Episode 1 makes sense. The missing chapter would seem more interesting that way. The only reason I can think of for showing them out of order would be to try & give someone else the same experience you had. That never works.

The only problem I would have with starting with Episode 1 is that it's not a particularly good movie. I knew a guy who hadn't seen any of the classic trilogy -- he saw Phantom Menace in the theatre when it came out, and didn't like it -- it killed his interest in the classic trilogy, which are far superior movies.

yes, this is old, but I think what was made first should be shown first, to give the people the true experience
