My guess is that all of the banners you're having trouble with are hosted off-site (i.e. not on theforce.net's servers), and that maybe MacAfee thinks it's an advertisement banner or something like that. The program should have an option to allow images from certain sites though.

//edit: to say that I'm already getting kind of used to it. This morning I felt like I clicked a wrong link somewhere, but the design is definitely growing on me.

 

Actually Morgaine, it's several of the ones hosted through us that aren't working very well lately, icons too.

 

I've heared of the icon problem, but I thought it had been fixed by now... didn't know banners were affected also. That's really too bad - any idea what might be causing the problem?

 

I noticed the icons are showing the evil red x's of doom lately across the icon library...

Here I am. I'm glad you guys like it, very pleased to see such a positive response. I'm quite fond of how it turned out myself, the concept as well as the graphics. Probably my personal favorite banner I've made for the JC so far. Here is the background image by the way, for those of you running on a smaller resolution.

The banner and new style sheet don't work AT ALL in Safari on my Mac... just FYI since I haven't had any problems with the rest of the boards.

However, I got to see it in Firefox (which runs too slow on my computer so I don't regularly use it) and it looks nifty... if only I could see it in my usual browser.

Safari is the standard browser for all macintosh computers. You can't get it for PC. It's basically based on Mozilla, though.

 

Which version of Safari are you using, BoogieMan?

For the record, I'm running an adblocking type of program for Safari (PithHelmet) and turning it off will load the images, but the stylesheet is still not working at all. So I'll modify my adblocking rules to allow the pictures, but it looks like the stylesheet, etc is having some sort of issues for me. Here's what I see.

 

The stylesheet was stuffing up for everyone. I believe it has just fixed itself.

And I'm running Safari 2.0.1 with adblocking.

 

FYI, I just installed and started running Firefox 1.5 (Release Candidate 2), and the banner and stuff is working perfectly.

 

I still don't understand why it was stuffing up in your version of Safari.

 

heh, I'm actually using release candidate 1 since there isn't a version 2 yet... stupid typos. Anyways, Firefox for Mac seems to be running a lot more nicely in this version, so I'm going to be giving it another try instead of using Safari for a while. I still have no idea what the problem was, though...

 

Hmm... well I turned off my filtering and it works on Safari... I just tweaked the filter enough that it will block the ads but still allow the banner images and the style. Still not entirely sure WHY it wasn't working, but it's working now and I don't want to touch it and have it break again.

 

Filtering? You mean, adblocking? Because I have the standard adblock on and it still works for me . . .
