Macon, GA No IMAX Clones in Georgia!

I just got off the phone with the staff from both IMAX theaters in Georgia and both informed me that there will be NO AOTC showings at their locations.

The manager of the Regal Mall of Georgia IMAX told me that he knows Apollo 13 will be coming so he is positive that Clones will not.

This totally bites. I'm going to check the Chattanooga, TN IMAX next.

Don't feel bad Allie. I am having trouble finding an IMAX theatre to play clones in Sourthern California (The movie capitol of the world!) San Diego won't be getting AOTC in IMAX, so far only 1 theatre in Los Angeles will be getting it (population 7 million). I am beginning to realize that this is going to be a VERY limited release.

 

Right now the closest theater to me "GUARANTEED" to get it is in Miami. That's a ten hour drive and at least a six hour flight. Either way it doesn't look good.

 

Disappointing indeed.

so is the IMAX at the tennessee aquarium playing it?

 

No. I spoke with the Manager there as well and I was informed that the Aquarium has a policy of "educational films only."

Too bad. I think Minicia and some of the Hothlanta Rebels might be working some magic on the Regal folks though. So I'm not totally losing hope. Although from what the Manager at the Mall of Georgia told me, it was pretty definitive that they were NOT getting AOTC. We'll see, but four weeks is a long time to hold your breath.

AOTC has been confirmed for Atlanta by Regal Cinemas Corporate staff. I know where our November meeting will be.

 

Any word on the dates it's playing?

 

I've also heard the movie's a bit shorter. Have they said what's been cut?
Not that I won't see it. Duh.

 

Oh Boy! I don't care what they cut out! Can you imagine Yoda kicking butt on an IMAX screen! Count me in!
