[face_sigh]Even Jello misses missed the Russian influences in her clothing.

To me it is perfectly possible to do that.

Personally I quite like it when the end result is rather mishmash since then it is something different.

^ I think the Russian influences may well have been influenced themselves by Mongol fashions.

Mongols were actually quite the trendsetters. The classic princess cap is an imitation of some of their designs, for instance.

GrandAdmiralJello : Well, perhaps I am not one to say, but personally the presentation is what matters. While there are instances of just throwing a bunch of cultures together in a way that demonstrates a clear lack of concern for the cultures involved, there is also instances of different cultures being blended together in ways that harmonize the similarities and complimentary aspects of both, respectful to all involved, and often producing something new and interesting at the end.

Besides, considering the influence of samurai movies, Taoist though, and the Shaolin monks on important parts of Star Wars, in my opinion there aren't really enough Asian influences in many parts of Star Wars. Yes, there are difficulties in doing it right, but personally - going "we have people of all different races but all the culture is pure European" has its own problems.

Though it is worth noting that it was still a fair bit different from its Mongol inspirations:

I don't think the GFFA should be limited to real-world "Western" terminology. But the powers that be should be careful where and how they use certain terms. Don't give all the villains Arabic titles. LFF and Disney, you're better than that.

On the other hand, we could just have made-up fantasy titles for everyone so as to avoid offense. "'Fresher" never offended anyone. That I know. Who doesn't post on this site.

Disney have the right to John Carter, right? They could use some of the noble titles from there in SW

Ahhhhh I had to Google that one. Now I know why so many folks hated that term here. Half of you are Brits.

Yeah, they could nick some of the species, too.

Imagine if they had Sith in Star Wars!?! How cool would that be?

Maybe vine-coffeine is like kaffekask but with some other liqueur instead of cognac or brännvin
