People don’t appreciate things unless they have to work for them.

Or more precisely, unless it is capriciously denied to large swaths of people creating unnecessary and untold human suffering for the sake of a fetishized justification of something slightly worse than the status quo. Ask J-Rod.

 

Clicking the like button on mobile is enough work that I appreciate it. Sometimes, my finger will miss and I'll click the +Quote button by accident. Or I won't realize I'm on the wrong post and I'll have to unlike and then like the correct post. And sometimes, I feel bad about unliking a post, so I'll just leave it in liked status because I don't want to feel bad the rest of the day.

So don't you try to take away my like button, wocky.

Double down on the like button and make a button to like a like, like Ken suggested the other day.

 

What does the “Quote+” button even do?

Also, Inty, maybe you should stick to using your telephone for calling people. A forum should be read only unless you are on a device specifically designed for that (ie a real computer). So that is another change I’d like to see.

 

I liked that post, and would now to like to like my liking of that post.

Edit: Wocky. My phone isn't designed for calling people. It just also does that. Welcome to the modern age. Do you need a software upgrade?

 

Another suggestion: make Jabba-wocky not be able to say the words "even" or "stupid" again.

Maybe we have a "JCCer of the Week" thread and the honoree gets colors but has to entertain us in the thread with interesting conversation, Youtube videos, exciting gifs, etc. Then we can have a new award added to the JCC Awards Thread honoring the person who entertained us with the best week.

 

It queues up quotes of posts so that you can more easily add multiple responses into the body of a current draft; it's primarily useful for quoting multiple items over a span of multiple threads and/or pages.

 

It more or less does the same as the Reply button, except it doesn't automatically scroll you down to the text input field, so you can continue reading the thread. Also, it doesn't automatically paste in the quoted text, but keeps it in memory until you hit the button to put it in.

Suggestion: fix the Quote+ button for Watto.

 

You have to hit the Insert Quotes button, which, when quotes are queued, is located on the bottom left in the quick reply field and the bottom right in the more options field because **** everyone I guess.

 

We had a member of the month on another forum I was apart of. It was determined by the number of 'likes' you received in a week.

You know what I wish. I wish double posts could somehow be merged into the first post. Although that would just look weird when the forum glitches out like the above.

Suggestion: What would be great would be a weekly or monthly JCC Newsletter with the highlights of the week/month so people can see what they missed if they were out for a while.
