Besides bumping the thread up again, I also wanted to say that the reason to see this show is ACT II! It's the MOST physically demanding role I've played in terms of slapstick! I've composed a small list of other reasons to come see the show.
1. Two of your fellow PFF-ers are in the show!
2. You get to see me run around in my boxer shorts!
3. You get to see Sand_Dancer have her skirt ripped off!
4. One of the actresses spends half the show in her "smalls for all the world to see"!
5. I get to fall down a lot!
6. Live theatre is more fun than a barrel of SARDINES!
7. The play also features Kevin Herrmann who will apear in the upcoming SW Fan Film, "Spirits of the Force!" (See PFF Movie Theatre)
8. It's a show for all ages! Well all ages 13 and up!
9. Choad played Freddie in his high school production of NOISES OFF and it might be fun to compare and contrast!
See you at the show!
Sardines, all (I think) 12 plates of them, should be higher on the list...
Seriously - this is a fun show - CG and I are going to try to go with the choadling... It's good fun...
My fav quotes from the show...
"Always trying to get me into the bathroom!"
"And how did God feel when he saw what he'd created?
Very happy. He'd taken his Valium."
"Always the same, isn't it? Soon as they take the weight off your feet, down it all comes on your head.
"It's like a fruit machine, up there."
"Why did I lock the door? Why did you lock the door?"
"You are completely and absolutely I don't know."
"No bars! No burglar alarms! They ought to be prosecuted for incitement!"
And of course...
hey, i might actually be able to make it to the show! assuming there are still tickets, that is. *crosses fingers*
There should be plenty of tickets. I would say get to the Box office an hour before the show just for safety but you should be ok... I'll try to get a tally from the Box office but NONE of the shows are sold out yet.
They are going though.
Well we have one more week 'till our final dress. If you get a chance, let me know who is coming which night so I can greet you after the show.
Well.. the cast and crew had quite a night last night when the head of the theatre department at MCC informed us that our director, Gary Stephens, is going in for emergency heart surgery this morning (1-18-04). He is expected to be okay but he will not be able to complete direction on the show. Fortunately, MCC theatre is like a family. We pulled in a wonderful woman named Beverly Byrd who is one of our seasonal directors to step in while Gary is in the hospital. The cast and crew are still a little shaky but the show is still going to be wonderful. Please keep our show and Gary in your thoughts. Thanks!
PS. Tickets for the show are still available!
Here's a thought...
Just have Lloyd do it...
BWAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH
I'll keep Gary in my thoughts, parsec. Good luck with the show!
I tried that already, Choad. They said no dice.
Thanks again for the good thoughts and prayers! Gary came through his surgery just fine. No word yet whether or not he'll be able to see the performances. The show is in good hands with Lyn Dutson and Bev Byrd. I hope you guys can make it. This is a very special group of people!
PS. I know Jedi_Webb is coming to the 2PM show on the 29th and Hydro_Jen on the 26th. Feel free to post what performance you'd like to come to so I can keep my eye out for you after the show!
Well, we have our first tech rehearsal tonight. Keep your fingers crossed that all goes well.
Apparently they might release him on Thursday...
Yeah, that's what I heard. Sounds like he may come to Sunday or Saturday's show. Yay!
Of course, you know I'm coming on Friday.
Well, I'm also attending the preview night!
Lots of prayer for you.
3 days 'till opening!
Call now for tickets!
Well I finally got home last night from a rehearsal that lasted from 5 in the afternoon till 12:30 AM today! We really want to get this right for you guys! Two days left 'till opening!
Just ordered my tickets for Sunday's Matinee. This is going to be a blast, I'm looking forward to it!
See you guys there! This play is easily the funniest I've been in in a long time! Please come check it out!
Not that you need it, but.... Break a leg tonight! I'm sure the show will rock socks!
Thanks Princess! I didn't get this till late but we had a WONDERFUL opening night! Standing ovation and everything! I hope a few more of you PFF-ers can make it! It's so much fun!
By the way, I wanted to let you all know that last night was packed and that's rare for a Thursday night! Be sure to get to the box office when it opens at 6:30 (or 12:30 if you're coming Sunday) to get tickets. I know Sunday is filling up fast! Thanks!
