Time setting: Between RotS and ANH

Main character - Jitt Sanyeer (though the name is not important), a reputable Jedi Master, was trained around the same time as Obi-Wan. Lightsaber form: whichever one he chooses to use at the time, though he is fond of Form III. He is a superior saber wielder, and a cunning fighter. His best traits are his philosophies and his intelligence though. An outside-the-box thinker, this trait has gotten him into a few problems with the council in the past, but he is still well respected in the Jedi community. Qui-Gon was a personal hero and role model to him in his Padawan days, even though he did not train underneath him.

    Chapter One

The hyperspace drive on Jitt Sanyeer's ship, The Nomad, hummed softly as Jitt prepared coordinations to Telos. He tapped a few buttons, set the course, leaned back in his chair and put his hands behind his head. Hyperspace travel is so boring, he thought listlessly as he gazed through the cockpit window out into the great vastness of space. The countless stars twinkled back at him, all shining and shimmering, like a far away view of a giant infinate city, bustling with life. He often mused how many people were out there, in that sea of stars. How many children were laughing at that exact moment, how many men had lost a bet, how many mothers had just givin birth. These thoughts usually left Jitt humbled at how miniscule his role in the universe really was. Jitt liked being humbled. It kept him grounded, never arrogant, always thinking clearly. It was one of his best traits as a Jedi Master. It aided him most often in combat. Arrogance gets in the way of judgment, it clouds the senses and impairs the use of the force. Jitt kept this in mind at all times.

Jitt had been assigned a post on Telos as a part of the outer-rim sieges, only a small faction of the much larger clone wars. The wars had been going on for over three years now, and Jitt, like many other Jedi, had begun to grow suspicious of the reasons behind this war, and it's instigator Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. Something didn't sit right with Jitt about it all. It seemed too convenient that Palpatine had been assigned emergency powers to stay in office until the war was offically at an end. As to when that would be, many people were still unclear.

Jitt had last been at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, discussing these things with Jedi Master Mace Windu. Mace felt the same things he did, which was no small feat, as he and Mace were almost never in agreement . Mace sensed a plot to destroy the Jedi, and Palpatine possibly played a key role in that, but no proof could come out of it. He had told Jitt to be mindful of this as he left for the outer rims.

As the Jedi sat there in his cockpit he went over these things in his head, meditating on them. Meditation was what Jitt felt was one of the most important practices of a Jedi. The results of meditation were invaluable for a Jedi, and prooved very affective to ward off the dark side. It opened the mind, calmed the user down, think rationally, clear. Clouded thinking leads to poor judgnemt, bad decisions, and worse results. Jitt meditated regularly.

Meditation also helped in sensing disturbances in the force, as Jitt was about to experience in the cockpit of The Nomad.

He sat there, deep in meditaion, as The Nomad sped through hyperspace. He was peaceful, almost in a deep state of rest. This was the best state to be at for feeling the force. It made one a conductor of the force, letting it flow through you like an electrical current, jumping from one ciruit to the next, in a great connection through the galaxy. Jitt was most content when meditating. It was a very pleasing feeling to him. This was not to last.

All of a sudden, a feeling of great heaviness came over Jitt. This heaviness was followed by immence pain, and then great dread. Jitt was jarred out of his peaceful state and sat up, fully awake. The feeling came again. Then again. Then again. Jitt knew something was wrong, this was no minor disturbance. The feeling came over him again. He tried to make sense of what was happening. It came over him again. He tried to calm himself down, tried to meditate, still the feeling rushed over him. He couldn't stop it. It repeated over, and over, and over. For one of the first times in his life as a Jedi, he felt paniced.
