128 just seems so small for a field that's potentially so large ...

Be interesting to have a series.

Have several successive batches of 64...say, 10 times, then run the champions against each other or somesuchness.

 

Oh, so each "regional" would have 64 characters, and then there could be 4 or 8 regions, and the champion of each region would face off in the championship bracket, where the overall winner would be decided. Is that what you mean?

 

Just like the hottie wars' hardwood tournament.

 

Yes, that would be great. 10 wouldn't work best, though. 8 or 16 would, though.

You could even make them genre specific. Action, RPG, Platform, Sim, other, etc ...

 

Hey, I was going to say R.O.B. but I didn't think he would count since he was originally an NES accessory.

Oh and Luigi was nominated and counted amongst the 128 we have. But you're right about Max of Sam and Max. So I guess the debate over R.O.B is the last thing we need to decide since it appears that Dash Rendar is accepted.




EDIT: As for expanding the tournament, that's just not going to happen. I think we've covered our bases on who could potentially win this tournament and managed to throw in a few wild cards. I can see expanding the tournament if you want this to finish up in October...of next year.

What about Scorpion, Sub-Zero!? I demand a replacement

Why don't we do a quick nomination of undeservingly missing characters from some of the multi-character listed games first, then the real thing? Mortal Kombat is obviously missing the more popular faces. I guarantee you Scorpion and Sub-Zero are the more beloved characters in MK.

 

Alright, I think we should make a motion to officially close the nominations? Can I have a mod please edit the title? (and my opening post--the part about the nominations being open until the 15th?)

Today is my birthday (yay) so I shall be out and about, but I'm thinking that this will officially start sometime this weekend (Saturday or Sunday).

 

But what about R.O.B? The jury is still out on that.
