    2. When was the Declaration of Independence signed?

    3. Who did the US "win independence" from?

    Flippin 'eck Tucker.
    I'm useless at English history.
Ergo, I will no doubt be useless at this....

    1. Who was the US's first President?
    Guess at Washington or Johnson...

    2. When was the Declaration of Independence signed?
I assume it was July 4th...???...which year...I have no idea. 1800 and something, something...??

    3. Who did the US "win independence" from?
That would be us. The dirty Brits/English (whichever it was). I think it was Brits...

    4. Who is the head of the US Executive Branch of government?
I have absolutely NO idea what the hell that even is!!! If I had to guess...I'd say the President, but I really haven't a clue.

    1. Who was the US's first President? George Washington (but is prepared to be shot down in flames by some President / non-President before him)

    2. When was the Declaration of Independence signed?Yesterday in 1776?

    3. Who did the US "win independence" from? Not a clue.

    4. Who is the head of the US Executive Branch of government? No idea, but I'll take a guess that technically the President is the head because he's lord of all he surveys.

    Correct answers:

    1. Washington

    2. July 4, 1776 (though not completely signed on that day)

    3. The Brits

    4. The President of the US (Full credit for saying George Bush)

My theory was that you non-Americans would perform at least as well, if not better, than average americans who were asked these exact same questions yesterday (on Independence Day). Sadly, I was proven correct.

I'll post some of the more entertaining answers I heard on the news later. Suffice it to say, you all, on average, knew more about American history than the average American asked the same questions (recognizing that it's a small sample size and all that jazz).
