    well I dont know how long the others are planning but I can get up for about 12:30pm on the saturday and leave in the afternoon evening on the sunday as it like 3 hours travel for me. The others it would be longer.

    I will send an e-mail out as no one seems to want to reply in this thread.

    @Padawan... if you wanna go bowling, we'd best not invite DA6 ;)

    I've only ever been to Scotland once, so I'll leave it to others to figure out what to do... I should be able to make it...

    I might go up on the Friday evening and come back Sunday. Haven't decided yet.

    First time I almost done the Tom & Jerry trick of sliding down the lane as the bowl I was using didn't have holes big enough for my fingers.

    I suggest that we do something to break up the day. Bowling is just one option. As DD said we can everything here that can be done elsewhere in the UK, although personally I can't wait until we Scots get those fancy television things here.

    That reminds me of a course I was on a couple of years ago. The trainer was using Coronation Street as an example to emphasis his teaching. He stopped and said "Sorry, do you get Coronation St. on TV in Scotland" I said "Sorry, TV?" Poor guy didn't know if I was being serious or not.

    @J... well I mean Glasgow I guess... obviously I know there are plenty of places to eat and drink there! :)

    Talking specifics, if anything in particular which is there, and only in Glasgow we could do...

    Personally I'm thinking I may go up for between three and five days. Dependingon how many mates' flats I can crash ;) :p

    I have a few things to do while I'm there such as going to an iunterview or two for a new job.
    Yup, the great tc is out to look for a new job, to buy a house and get married and stuff like that. :eek: :eek: :eek:

    and i'm being serious!

    But first - the drinking :D

    Danky, do you know if the Westend dj lot still do the parties up at the loch? - I could do with catching one of thhose whilee I'm up.
    As for entertainment please can we have no bowling and no paintballing - let's have something a bit differnet.

    OOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooh

    I have it.

    No offence I am not going to drink the whole weekend. If you want something other than bowling suggest something rather than leave me to do all the work.

    well, I dunno about the Loch djs - I'll do some research and see if there are any unofficial parties on the go that weekend...

    I could suggest, combining the boats and scenery and drinking things...

    I book a minibus from my usual supplier, drive the lot of you to Loch Lomond lunchtime, get on the pree-booked wee motor boats at Balmaha, scoot over to the islands, picnic, drink the afternoon away, weave back to Glasgow in the bus later on, in time for peak pub / curry time 8-ish

    course tha idea is weather dependant.... but the wee boats are a gallus laugh.....

    speed boat?

    well, they've got motors on them, but there aint much speed to be had...

    nonetheless, last time I steered one, I ran aground on some rocks off one of the islands.... and had to survive on a diet of sandwiches and beer for .....ooh...... hours before I could be bothered pushing it off the rocks and going home......

    CURLING

    You know, bowls on Ice.

    One thing is - we can actually spend a day just going round Kelvin park {not at night like Ned will} kelvin hall, the university, the Art-School - the Galleries etc..
    I'd be up for doing that if no one wants to go curling :p

    Anyhow - let's list activities posibilities:

    * tc's architectural tour of Glasgow
    * curling
    * bowling
    * Ice skating {paisley I guess}
    * Boy Racing (Sterling - bring car and oversized stereo)
    * Paint Balling
    * Laser Quest
    * Casino :D :D :D
    * Porn film making
    * Big cake baking
    * Shopping
    * Loch Lomand {like Jazz, it's nice}
    * other stuff

    Right - I'm off for a route canal :D - so if I'm grumpy later you'll know why :p

    loch lomond is not that far away, and very beautiful. my profile pic is taken there.

    Stirling is also a wee bit to the north, and has a few walks or historical bits.

    why are you meeting in Glasgow over Edinburgh? I love Edinburgh...so much to do! Do all the Scots live in Glasgow?

    who's the shortest amongst us.....? We need a Hawaiian midget butler.........

    to add to TC's list
    there's also...

    Dog racing - good evening out with cheap betting, cheap bar, and strangely ParkLife cockney/glaswegian characters

    indoor go-karting --- big place next to the city centre books you in as a party and you can run a tournament.....
    ---------------

    TC has a point about the abundancy of free galleries, architecture etc etc though.....
    three is a lot of good stuff to see, inbetween eating and drinking.....

    Right to make this simple I am going open a poll on the Scottish forum and people can vote there on what they want to do rather than open it here and start taking up all the room.
