Boy, that dusty ball sure is heavily used in SW, isn't it? Check it out! These are all I could think of, in as chronological order as I could make it. Have I missed any? Are we fated to always come back to this far rock from the sun? :D

    1. Outlander
    2. The Phantom Menace
    3. Attack of the Clones
    4. Rebel Dawn
    5. A New Hope
    6. Shadows of the Empire
    7. Return of the Jedi
    8. By The Emperor's Hand
    9. Battleground: Tatooine
    10. Tatooine Ghost
    11. Tatooine Phantom
    12. The Bacta War
    13. Heir to the Empire
    14. Darksaber
    15. Rebirth
(-plenty of Tales anthology short stories)
(-The Krytos Trap; Wedge sending some Rogues there to contract a freighter to ferry some Imp flyers)

Hey, that new Dark Empire cover is quite cool! Those ships must be the Eclipse and World Devastators.

considering it's relative obscurity, I'm always amazed at how much we see of Tatooine. Admitedly, one of the greatest heros of the rebellion came from there, but still you'd think there'd be less of it. Personally, I think we should see some more of Corellia, with the exception of the CT, the side trip there in I, Jedi and a few other times such as in Paradise Snare, although it was only in the thrackan home mainly., we hardly see any Corellia...

Nope, but we sure get a lot of Corellians, as well as Corellian ships being the top choice for any ships used in a book. :D

We do have to count stubborness from Lucas as well. He had Padme and Anakin meet there, Luke live there near Obiwan. Obiwan first met Anakin there, Anakin first encountered the sith there. Not to mention alkl the other reference in the EU.

Maybe its important in Episodes 7/8/9 about Jaina, Jacen and Ben who we haven't, to my knowledge, ever set foot on the twin sunned planet.

It has to be relevant, he could of as easily used Alderaan or Corellia.

"Admitedly, one of the greatest heros of the rebellion came from there"

Three, if you count the Darklighters

As far as Corellia, it was apparently closed off to the NR for years, being somewhat isolationist.

What's all this about episodes 7, 8 and 9 and Jaina and Jacen and Ben?

Wishful thinking. Jacen went to Tatooine in Rebirth.

In the Bounty Hunter game the 'Longo Two-Guns', 'Tusken Canyon', and 'Gardulla's Palace' levels are all Tatooine-based. And Jango does get a chance to fall into the Sarlacc Pit along the way. (Currently the Sarlacc is ahead 5-0 in my gameplay..)

In dark forces 2 you spend some time on Tatooine if I remember correctly...

And probably more heros of the rebellion/ NR came from Corellia:
    Wedge Antilles
Corran Horn(he's a hero as far as I'm concerned)
    Han Solo
    Garm Bel Iblis
Booster Terrik, questionable, he played an important role in the peace between NR/Empire

And I'm sure there are plenty more that have slipped my mind right now...

And you get to spend the first part of the New Droid Army at Tattooine as well. And you get to race through Beggar's Canyon in Rebel Assault I and Rogue Squadron :D

Although I can't remember Tattooine popping up in Dark Forces 2?

Tales of the Mos Eisley Cantina and Tales from Jabba's palace were both set entirely on Tatooine.

It's mysteries of the sith that has tatooine in it, which is an expansion to JKII.

*snaps fingers* Ah yes, I remember that. However, was it ever officially stated that it was Tatooine? I mean, not EVERY Hutt has a palace on that sandy planet, do they?

Well it's certainly implied that its Tatooine, the palace looks similer to Jabba's palace. There are tusken raiders, gammoreans, rodians, and trandoshans everywhere. It's a dusty, rocky landscape etc.

There were Tuskens in Dark Forces II, but that was Sulon, I believe.

I didn't include the games because that would have raised questions, like should I include bonus missions, or different console/comp platforms for multiple titles.

But is anyone fed up of seeing the dustball in book after book, even if it's only a scene or two? Why not use another desert planet?

Heh heh, Tatooine Phantom. I thought it looked good after Tatooine Ghost . . .

I am reading (once again) the Boba Fett comics and: Murder must foul starts off on Tatooine at the palace of Gorga the Hutt.

EdiT: I dont mind them using Tatooine alot, after all it has been 1 of the most important planets in the movies. One that newbies in the EU easily recognize.

I agree though that other planets like Hoth, Dagobah and Naboo should be much more used in the EU.
