Kashyyyk has been shown in several sources to have islands, so a sea is nothing new.

Who says Obi-Wan doesn't recognize Chewie?

The fambaa's are the Gungan's unique units, and the gundarks and bursas are only in select missions. The Reek and Acklay (and possibly others) will be close-combat units for the Confederacy to use every mission, not just a select few. This is a new feature for the expansion, as told by Garry Gaber himself.

Each civ will also have an "air cruiser" which is a huge airship capable of taking out turrets at long range.

    Good... good.

About Kashyyyk, the exact game isn't really apart of the story. The color coding of each player (orange Trade Federation droids anyone?), mynocks crawling around on the ground, and walking around on Kashyyyk's surface. Ignore these things, they are things that just make the game work and don't really have anything to do with the story or the saga.

Okay, my bad... Kashyyyk has oceans.

"Who says Obi-Wan doesn't recognize Chewie?"

    Nobody said he didn't. :p

I just said GBG changed our views of ANH. :)

"mynocks crawling around on the ground"

Who says mynocks can't do that, :).

"and walking around on Kashyyyk's surface."

Scientifically speaking there would be beach zones and low lieing forests, or early growth near shores where new land is being formed just like on our earth. So where they are located isn't unrealistic from a scientific geological standpoint.

"Ignore these things, they are things that just make the game work and don't really have anything to do with the story or the saga."

They fit just fine, imho, from a logistical standpoint and scientifically speaking. Kind of like how coruscant has a western sea because of scientific requirment and to hold a water supply.
