If I sign up and am the least knowledgeable person on the list, does that automatically qualify me for the United States spot until the end of 2008?

 

As for countries, you can suggest states but like I said, I'm drunk with power that I intend to abuse beyond all reason and randomly assign some countries to people!

Instead of us picking, oh great a powerfully drunken one, how about you assign specific countries (say current countries) to our signed up delegates and let the poo-slining ensue!

If we're doing the UNSC, maybe we could operate a scenario wherein the proposal to bring the 'G4' states into permanent membership has been approved and implemented? Certainly, it would be more engaging to act as either India or Brazil, rather than Ghana or Panama.

I mean, no slight on Panama. Pro Mundi Beneficio ... isn't that just the United Nations in a nutshell?

 

If I were to play, I'd probably take China so I could ensure China's done properly but I'm more like to assume the role of "controller" so that any "facts" introduced are stuff I check/approve first. e.g. intelligence, planned deployment, incidents etc.

I'd be a gamemaster, essentially.

I've done a first draft of roles which Mr44 and I will discuss with others and tweak until it's close to perfect.

The scenario will be literally ripped from today's headlines but the real world timeline will end when the RP starts.

In some cases too, it would be great to attempt to sidetrack the discussion for other issues - such as UNSC expansion - because it suits your agenda.

South Africa is the current President; Presidency goes for 1 week and after that will following UN rules and descend in alphabetical order.

If it's fluid enough it may be that one scenario is all it needs to keep going.

There are some unfilled positions which would only be reserves on a needs basis - UNHCR, for example, and the EU - so if there's additional demand this may be flexible enough.

Some of you will lol at who I've picked to play the agent provocateur in all of this.
