For an hour new posts won't move a thread o the top of the board's page. Don't be alarmed, it's just that the new posts are actually an hour behind the old ones. :)

I was just coming here to say something about that. I guess we should also note that the posts for the one o'clock hour will not be in order either.

Your new posts might even be placed before some of the old posts. So, when you're looking for your latest post in a thread, look at the times and you may find it somewhere a few posts back.

I am having trouble posting, and I think it may be because of the hour change. Every time I try to post, I keep getting the evil message:
"Error: Only 1 message post per minute is allowed.", and my last post was several minutes ago. (BTW, this is
    _Padme_
's "sock", since I posted once under the username _Padme_ and now I can't post anymore... I guess I won't be able to post under this username either after this post :() Then does that mean I won't be able to post after an hour and a minute after my last post? ?[face_plain]

Note from the Mod Squad : This actually isn't Daylight Savings Time, but the evil forces of Lord Satan that are messing with our Holy message board.

If your last post was before the time change, you won't be able to post till the time is one minute past your last post.

    To be perfectly accurate, isn't it Pacific Standard Time anyway? [face_devil] 8-}

Isn't it Daylight Savings time? Or is it Standard time now?

Either way, the problems will be over in 16 minutes.

Daylight Savings is starting now, since winter days are so short.

Don't believe tis "Daylight Savings Time" pishposh.

The reality is that there's a tear in the space-time continuum through which the undead are presently streaming.

I'm gathering a posse of good strong townsfolk to ward off the thread of demonic invasion. Everyone, gather outside the ol' abandoned mill. Bring the usual assortment of clubs, pitchforks and burning sticks.

That should hold 'em till the Sheriff arrives from up-state.

I believe it's the other way around.

"People in most of the United States 'fall back' to standard time early Sunday when daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. local time. It means getting back the hour of sleep lost when daylight saving time began in April. "

    But I could be wrong.

I cant remember this happening last year when the daylight savings change happened. Is there something different happening this year?

No, it happened last year too.

And MSNBC says that it's now Standard time. So, QGJ is a smarter person than me. :p

Yeah. I remember sending a PM to Kadue when I was getting the 1 post per minute message after the clocks turned back.

Don't worry about your age. I'm sure that you're aging like wine.

    Here's that PM:

    From:
    Dark_Lord_Erik

    Date Sent:
    10/28/01 1:37am

    Date Read:
    10/28/01 1:37am

    Subject:
    Not able to post

    Body:
This will end in an hour, right? It keeps giving me the 1 post per minute message. Just wondering.

I remember that Erik. It's something that we have to deal with every year, unless of course you're not affected by the post time limit.

well, I think it's the opposite happening in the spring. There's no posting from 0100 to 0200, when clocks move ahead one hour in the US. In the fall we meet ourselves falling back one hour. :D

Ok, this time change thing is seriously weird. Snowboards seems to have huge problems dealing with it - I suppose it just wouldn't allow us to post posts "before" posts that were made in the past (because you've gone back one hour in time ;) )...

Maybe the JC can just ignore Daylight Savings in future ;)
