Novel in Star Wars world

Want to write a novel about a Sith Lord who turned to light side.
Any suggestions or things I should know (including trademarks and copyright )?

Hello. First off, you are better off posting your question here in the Fanfic Writing Discussion, Question and Advice thread.

Secondly, if you are meaning to write a fanfic novel and post it to a site like this or fanfiction.net, there is nothing you need to worry about in terms of trademarks and copyrights. Disney/Lucasfilm has yet to disallow fanfiction, so as long as you aren't making any money off of it, you are okay.

If you want to publish a Star Wars novel for profit, unfortunately, we can not help you here.
