OKC, OK November (Monthly???) JediOKC site outage

Once again, I wanted to let our JediOKC.com members know that there is a problem on the webhost's side with our website. When last I checked, the content of our site was still current, and that nothing has been lost. A VERY RECENT database backup was made, so our forum will be very close to current if that requires a backup. However, if the site source code is lost, it take some time to recover.

Until our webhost gets the problem resolved, please bear with us.

Our webhost's tech support hopes the server (and our site) will be back up and running mid-day on 11/17.

WOW talking about going back in time. How long has it been since i have been this sign in????

Also as it currently stands, the circumstances are also abyssmal. The most recent backup for our site's code was back in March. This unfortunately means that all images, pictures, newsletters and the like that were uploaded or added since then are currently lost to the digital ether. If our host was willing to share with us why this was so, and what our options are regarding backups, we could have averted not only having such an outdated backup, but perhaps the site actually being down.

We are going to load the March backup and I will bring some of the quicker modifications back to the site. We also have our own current copy of the forum's user and post content, so at least that will be up-to-date. Our web host is attempting to coerce the person(s) responsible for the server to supply a more recent site backup.

All that said, we will be changing web hosts once we learn just exactly what kind of backup we're going to get. This situation is intolerable, and we (the Council) now wish we had changed web hosts sooner. That's what we get for relying on the competence of our current web host.

In the meantime, we can limp along with posts on our OKC Fan Force site, where I typically provide updates for our home site's outages. Or, if you're REALLY put-out by this, you can swing on over to OSJR.

Please bear with us as we're pretty upset about it, too.

JediOKC.com is currently up and running as of 11/21. Recovery is underway and the inevitable host change will be occurring soon.
