That is definitely true. Either as an experience they've had or wish to have. Or inspiring them to be more like the characters they admire. Personal growth stories are great reads and if they find happiness, I do like seeing that expounded at some length, not just as a sorta paragraph in the epilogue or something. If it takes 20 chapters for a character to realize something the rebuilding/actualizing should take some expression also so the characters can (and the readers also) enjoy the changes.
