I'm not doing one, but there's been a lot of chatter about them on the ICG (International Costumer's Guild) mailing list. I'm pretty sure that some people are planning to wear some for this year's CostumeCon at the end of April in San Jose.

I've actually been working on some steampunk Leia sketches this week.

It amuses me how all of a sudden steampunk is popping up everywhere. :)

    You seek Brass Goggles:

    http://ccgi.firewyre.force9.co.uk/brassgoggles/

They have a forum a little way down the right side of the page.

Currently, they also have on the front page an article about a "Star Wars meets Steampunk" Lego contest on one of the Lego forums.

I'm trying to come up with some design ideas for a blaster but I'm having some problems with the handle and the trigger. I can't really think of anything that would look good as a handle as well as maybe looking functional.

I think I'll be working on my blasters over the summer. I should have a lot of time to come up with something. :)

Go figure- after working security shifts at a couple of local factories, I've been thinking of doing a techworld/steampunk inspired Jedi knight. What would a Jedi who grew up on some heavily industrialized forgeworld look like, anyway?

I'm picturing lots of black- white robes would NOT stay clean there. Orange saber, and lots of bits of tech-gear hidden in the costume, including a full-face mask designed to filter out atmospheric pollutants and worse.
I so need to get this costume done..

Hey all, I'm planning on trying to do a Steampunk costume for a con next year. The basic concept is gentleman adventurer. I'm planning on having one arm be artificial and am looking for resources for Steampunk design and artwork, particularly robots.

There is a risk of the 'steampunk' lightsabres looking like 'Ghostbusters' proton packs if not done well.

I think you need Leather gloves, maybe slightly charred from forging things. and welding goggles.
