True Story

 

Couldn't find the Ewan thread, so I'll post here. I just read that Ewan is to be one of those on Queen Elizabeth's honor's list. Does anyone know if that means Knighthood as in "Sir Ewan McGregor?" How wonderful for him in any case. I would love to see it if it's televised or You Tubed or anything...

 

Ewan will be getting an OBE (Order of the British Empire - although the empire doesn't exist any more of course. Just realised how much that sounds like the end of ROTJ!) It's not as 'high' as a knighthood (more SW references here) but it doesn't stop him from being knighted later on, if the Powers That Be ever decide that he should be. Many people who became 'Sir Whoever' got an OBE or MBE beforehand.

hey,that looks great! earler this morning,i was watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles over at Nickolodeon.everytime they close up on Leonardo,I am reminded of the time James Arnold Taylor voiced him in the last TMNT movie.Obiwan Kenobi and Leonardo-we need leaders like them. but Donatello is my favorite.

 

Sir Alec Guinness was knighted,so why not his successor? so we not only have a Jedi Knight,but a true to life one if it pushes through.too bad Yoda isn't around to bestow the honor. I can just imagine Quuen Elizabeh talking like Yoda-confer on you the knighthood,we do.

 

That would be so funny if she did...but I'm so glad he's being honored. And OBE is a great honor for him, and perhaps later he will be knighted. He deserves it.

There is a scripture in the Bible that says to not boast of one's own good deeds, but let others praise you. I thinks that speaks of Ewan in many ways. He's been doing good things for years, but we never hear it from him, but from other venues, and now finally he's getting some official recognition. (I heard his honor is as much for his work with charity as it is for acting accomplishments.)

 

Think he'll wear his jedi outfit when he gets knighted? That would be cool.

That would be 'if' not 'when' but we can hope! He's still a bit young for a knighthood anyway
