COPIED FROM the Charlotte Fan Force boards - THANK YOU JADA!

OK, this is happening at Roper Mountain Science Center, 402 Roper Mountain Road * Greenville, SC 29615 * 864 355-8900 on Saturday, October 11th from 9am to 2:30pm.

Roper Mountain Science Center will bring the science, myth, and imagination of Star Wars to life on Saturday, October 11th. The Harrison Hall of Natural Science building will become a new galaxy, not so far away, where visitors can explore the worlds and planets of the Star Wars epic sagas by discovering the different habitats found on our own planet Earth. Delve into the mythology of the "Hero's Quest," and find out how history inspired Darth Vader and the Force.

There will be activities and learning experiences for all ages. You might try your hand at operating your own robot at the "Mission to Mars" table. Find out how a mag-lev train and hovercraft works. Compare the similarities between the fighter crafts of Star Wars' galactic battles and our modern fighter jets and helicopters flown by Earth's modern-day heroes. Discover the reality of cloning and how technology will affect the soldier of tomorrow. The event will highlight the work of Greenville County Schools social studies and science students.

The 501st Legion of Star Wars re-enactors will greet visitors dressed as Storm Troopers and other characters that you might recognize. And don't forget to wear your own Star Wars costume if you'd like. Visitors can take a deeper look at Star Wars by visiting the Barnes & Noble book fair in the Hall of Science.

We look forward to seeing you at this intergalactic meeting of family fun, learning opportunities and entertainment. Until then, may the Force be with you!
