Omaha, NE OFF Jedi Costume Clinic - March 15th 2009

Mark your calendars folks! The first Omaha Fan Force sponsored costume clinic will be March 15th, 2009.

Ever want to don the robes of a Jedi Knight or Master but dont know how or cant sew? Want to join the Rebel Legion and the fight against the Empire and the Dark Side? Already have a Jedi costume, but you think it can be better? Then this is the event for you.

On Sunday, March 15th the Omaha Fan Force will be hosting a Jedi Costume "Clinic." Many of the sewing-talented people of the OFF will be on hand with their sewing machines to help you create your Jedi costume. We currently expect anywhere from 3 to 4 sewing stations, as well as at least one serger. We will help you cut out and sew together your Jedi robes.

What's it cost you say? Just the cost of the fabric you want to use! Go to the fabric store, buy your fabric, pre-wash it at home, then bring it in! Fabric recommendations and yardage will be posted before the end of the week.

We envision this to be a "most of the day" type event. The morning will start with the pinning and cutting out and serging. Then on to construction and fitting.

On hand will be several members of the Rebel Legion who will be able to advise on costume standards, and to provide guidance as to where to track down the finishing pieces of your Jedi, such as the belt, boots, saber, etc.

The OFF is having its regular monthly meeting this coming Sunday the 1st. Time is anytime after 5pm. It'll be at my house most likely. It would be a good opportunity for those participating in the Jedi clinic to meet with the "sewers" and get info on material, and perhaps set a time to go fabric shopping in advance of the 15th!
