Can anyone that was there last year give us an idea of what to expect? We'll be showing up on Friday but what time should we get there to get inside? Will there be a long wait? Looking at the map of the convention center you can see red lines that are labeled "cue lines" that go around the entire complex. Will we have to wait in line here to get in?

If they do it the same way as in previous years, you shouldn't have to wait in line. They have a reserved seating section up front for finalists and their friends (thus ensuring quick trips to the stage for the winners). So you could just wait until the doors open and then just head up front and still find a seat.

Or as I recall, in previous years we went to the doorkeeper and explained that we were finalists and were let in early. (It was easier the second year, since we had an Artoo unit in our entourage - we just looked like we should be allowed in early, I guess.)

And unless I'm very much mistaken, you're going to need that seat up front, since I'd bet real money you're going on stage sometime that evening. :D

Thanks for the reply, but what I was looking for is what to expect as far as getting into the convention at the beginning of the day, not just the awards.

I'll have my basge waiting for me, but I'm coming with three other people who will have to purchase their's that day. When should would get there that morning? Should we expect a huge line just to get in the building?

I'm really quite surprised that Fenn did't find and post this. He's usually up on these things. :D

The Atom Films contest got some press in Australia. Both Fenn and I were interviewed.
    Here is the resulting article

It's short... But, press is press! :D

Hell, I'm just thrilled to be one of the ones interviewed for a change.

    Congratulations to all the winners!

Fenn, I can't believe how much was chopped out of Sith Apprentice. I didn't see how much it really was until the awards ceremony tonight. :/ But congratulations are in order nonetheless. Way to go!

    Congratulations all round. =D=

A bit of a surprise with the George Lucas Selects Award, but you can never tell with that one. And the website does say to check back for details for the 2006 awards, so there is still hope for next year. Hope everyone had a good time at the awards!

Congratulations to all! Especially Rob, who got slaughtered last year!

I am a bit surprised that bluehickey didn't take animation. The Bamboo one had a neat style, but I didn't think it really matched up.

Thanks, Durb -- I am still in shock.

It pleases me to report that 'Aieko' got a rousing laughter during the opening montage. You guys would've been proud.

So much for the 'critics', huh? X-P

Awesome! Simply awesome. Truth be known, that's almost as good to hear as winning the award! :D

    Thank you for that!

    Thanks!

Those Georgia peeps are severely cool cats... clever shirt designers too.

I was fortunate enough to meet several AtomFilms bigwigs and fellow fan filmmakers this weekend and they all whooped three kinds of arse! Even Mark Rusciano -- who gets 0 points deducted for being northern. ;-)

It's rare and wonderful to cross paths with such fanatics who also share a rabid interest in Star Wars.

Too bad about the Celebration III store closing... *sigh* I guess I'll go to eBay and get my souvenirs.

    own3d.

Anyway, I hate to play the devil's advocate here, Fenn, especially after meeting you...but I really, really enjoyed the edited version of the film much more than the long version. Pacing was excellent, and got to the same end.

It was great to meet many of you here, including the Love of the Film guys during the fan film panel (I was sitting with Shane Felux).

Congrats to the AtomFilms winners. I wasn't very surprised by any of the results (except Pioneer). Not many people have seen Return of the Ework. My buddy has it and I saw a few years ago. It is pretty funny. I wish LFL would have cleaned it up for C3 though.

    Yes, it's too early... :D

I'll post more later when I get some time, but I'm finally back from C3 and now swamped at work... I figured I'd post a few quick photos, tho... I had a great time at the show, met a bunch of interesting people, and then there was Fig... gonna have to do something about that guy... [face_thinking]

I wonder if this guy's seen Sith Apprentice yet?
    [image=http://www.zteamproductions.com/images/C3/DarthJarJar.jpg]

Oh, and there was some kind of awards show - I think I did okay in that this year, or something... :D
