Guy I work with swears umm.. Lupin I think is what it's called is the greatest thing on earth. I dunno, I saw about five minutes of it and was like "umm ok then". But maybe that's just me, stuff that looks like Speed Racer just doesn't impress me much, unless they take it and put it into another series like they did with Space Ghost, which I know isn't Anime per say, but like said above it's just short for Animation.... so na-na. Hmm...it's Sunday... Adult Swim night.. yippie.

Adult Swim...nice. My favorite show on there is 'AquaTeen Hunger Force'. Did anyone see the episode where these invaders from the moon corrupt MeatWad by teaching him how to smoke and manipulate him into stealing electronic equipment? That was some funny stuff. There's a sequel episode in which the moon-dwellers return, bent on revenge, possessing a belt imbued with the power of 70's supegroup Foreigner! Totally random. It's a great cartoon.

    hi guys;

whats you uptake on cowboy bebop? i only got to see part of an episode as its on pretty late 1030pm. i mentioned it to a friend of mine who told me that there is an x-rated version of it too. i told him there must be an x-rated version of every cartoon in the world by now.

Alot of fans will make kooky hentai versions of almost any anime, I've even seen ones goofing on Dragon Ball Z. They're pretty lame.

Cowboy Bebop is a spectacular series. I enjoy the soundtrack (very jazz-heavy), and the fact that it takes a classic concept (bounty hunters), and incorporates it in a futuristic setting. The characters are all very well developed, and each of them get their time in the spotlight in episodes that focus on their origins. My favorite episode though is one about some illegal mushrooms.

My complaints about Bebop is that it gets very predictable. New characters are introduced that are either killed off in the same episode, or are never seen onscreen again. Also, for a bunch of down-and-out bounty hunters, they almost always let their quarry get away, letting their quirky bounty hunter code of ethics get in the way from pulling in a big score.

All in all, it's pretty cool. Faye, one of the main characters, is total eye candy in every episode, and there's enough action to keep me entertained. I guess they also show it on Craptoon Network, but rent the dvds. I own the series and am sure that's the best way to watch it. Super Collector has them all, too.

i agree, super collecter is the best place for a lot of good stuff. they also have the most soundtracks ive ever seen in one place. what are your thoughts on justice league?

Justice League I think is great. I've been a huge fan of the Batman animated series and since the same guy does the voice and all I have to give up my props. I think they do a really good job of developing the characters so even a hero like Hawkgirl can seem somewhat interesting. And the girl who does her voice is smokin. It's funny you mention the show now Don since I was as a presentation they just did last weekend. I think that was one of the best panels I have ever seen. The guys from the top down seem to really love and enjoy what they are doing without making themselves seem full of themselves about it. The didn't speak down to the people who asked the questions even if they had answered them two before so in that way they have my total and utmost respect. And how many other cartoons are shown (sometimes) in letterbox???? Come on now. :) It's too bad they have relegated the OG Batman show to 1 am on Wed night or some other ungodly hour. But if they all come out on dvd...life would be good.

So I watched my first episode of Berzerk. Pretty good anime. It's actually episode 6 (thanks Malice :)). I'm a little confused as to what's going on, but I plan to keep watching it as a few things were apparent right off the bat. I can remember the characters names, but it's obvious that the sword that one character has is pretty special (he might be special too, don't know).

I don't usually like watching shows starting in the middle, unless I can get all the episodes and watch them as well. That's one of the reasons I probably won't be getting back into Gundam for a while. That series has been running for years and I haven't watched it seriously since AnimeExpo 97.

And I think I've watched through episode 9 of Trigun now. That's a good show too. Looking around for episode 10 so I can continue watching it.

So many shows to watch, so little time.

I recently acquired Berserk 1-5, I'll be able to get you those at the next meeting, or if BobaMP does more Test-Shoots.

...And who has seen any episodes of the new Transformers series: Armada? Talk about horrible. Prime looks like something that the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers would drive around in...And Megatron is a tank? When did that happen? This show tries to cash in on the Anime element by making their human characters' eyes look all big, and they have this strange Pokemon rip-off plotline. The Transformers no longer seek power from Energon Cubes, instead they collect these cutesy mini-transformers, which might as well be Medabots, or Digimon, or Beyblade, or...Ah, @#%$%!! I'm losing it. Watched last night's episode (this was my first exposure), and all the characters did was talk the whole episode. Totally lousy, and I couldn't find Soundwave in the entire motley assortment of robots. Just as well, they probably turned him into a pseudo-Gundam, or something.

Samurai Jack kicks arse. And the animation is actually really good, just a little different.

I saw a TV spot for that Samurai Jack show the other night, when I was watching that pile of drek, 'Transformers Armada'. It looked really slick, and I liked the blend of classic style animation with modern effects. When does it come on? I'm too lazy to check my cable guide. Is it on after the 72-hour 'Dexter's Laboratory' Marathon? Sorry to lash out again, folks. I just get so filled with contempt for Cartoon Network.

Ahhh yes the train wreck that is "Transformers: Armada". I attempted to watch the whole first episode back when they first premired it and He-Man. I was recording it for my roomate and even turned off the vcr. I almost expected Pikiachu to hop out and zap Megatron or something. They have it so japanimated that the damn mouths don't even match up to the voices. Sad...esp when you compare it to He-Man which I think they did a great job of updating while keeping it with it's old-school roots. As far as Samurai Jack I think it's pretty neat. My roomate, who's name happens to be Jack, of course loves it like his own son. But that not withstanding it is a very male driven show. Even though they just did have one where the female was the savior and all. But, yea I think the backgrounds and the music are what really sell the show. And if you can go through a whole half-hour show with only having a few lines of dialoge you are doing something right. And, Malice you are right, for all the great cartoons that network has they do seem to show alot of the same ones over and over and over and over again. Egads, you wern't being factual about the 72 "Dexters" were you? I might just have to turn off my tv so I don't have to witness any of that. Even though the Speed Racer spoof they did of it was pretty damn funny.

Chobits is a pretty interesting and funny shoujo anime. However, I get the feeling you guys are more into the dramatic stuff.

Isn't Chobits the series where the main girl is a robot, and she and the boy she lives with fall in love? Theres alot of anime that uses variations on that theme.

Yeah, chobits is about a robot girl, a persocon, that a boy finds dumped in the trash. He saves her and lots of other stuff happens. There are some really funny scenes because the guy has a porn habit. Anyway, it was funny and cute, so if you like shoujo, it would be a good one to try out.

While I do watch Cartoon Network occasionally, that's about all I can take. The scheduling of the shows I want to watch is terribly inconsistent. Programs like 'Inu Yasha' show up on Adult Swim for one night, and are never heard from again. It's a channel that used to be cool. I remember when I could watch great shows (Thundercats, Smurfs, Robotech, and Gundam), but too much emphasis is placed on their original programming, and they show way too many episodes of 'Dragonball Z', and 'Scooby Doo'. I believe a network that calls itself "Cartoon Network" needs to add more of a variety of animated programs to its lineup, and show what the people want to watch at a more reasonable hour. I want them to bring back 'Space Ghost', and as big a fan of Japanese animation as I am, I believe their 'Toonami" should show a little more than just Dragonball Z. And sorry Cartoon Network, but 'He-man, and 'Transformers', are just NOT Japanimtion. Stop showing them on Toonami.

Does the "Stargate" cartoon series count as Anime? I started watching it last week and it is way more fun than "Stargate SG1"!

Watched last night's episode of 'Samurai Jack'. 1st time seeing it, and I wasn't particularly impressed. It revolved around some weird Alice in Wonderland storyline, and wasn't bad, but wasn't good either. Are all the shows like this? I swear the intro was cooler than the actual show.

I'll be watching the next episode whenever it comes on, and I hope to have warmed up to it by then. If not, time to change channels. (I did the same thing with the show X-Men: Evolution, that also fluctuated between good and so-so)

Okay, everyone. 'Samurai Jack' is on tonight at 10pm (I missed last night's episode). The show is now supposedly 7 nights a week. This will be Cartoon Network's last chance.

I did happen upon a Cartoon Network show called 'Hamtaro' that was kind of lousy. A strange community of hamsters run around and do silly things. Weird.

all the stuff on cartoon network that hardly ever gets shown you can get on Cartoon Network 2 via satellite TV. other than that i guess you'll just have to check the tv guide for the shows you want.
