I gather R2 is working ok? I hadnt heard anything, so no news is good news I hope. I had his dome rotation gear worked out pretty good on the bench, but heck never got a chance to install and test it in the bird.

 

I'm so glad she's inside, mostly for R2's sake. I didn't do anything while I was there, but thanks for thanking me anyway

Landing the Force in Orlando

As reported on starwars.com, Star Wars Weekends at Disney's MGM Studios launched this past weekend, with Rick McCallum (Star Wars prequels producer) and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) as the celebrity guests for the weekend. Warwick Davis (Wicket the Ewok) is hosting the very special Star Wars event all four weekends.

Not only did Star Wars fans from all over the country travel to Florida to enjoy the first of a four-weekend series, Lucasfilm's X-wing starfighter replica traveled from the Wings Over the Rockies Museum in Denver, Colorado, to be part of the event.

After a good "beauty treatment" from museum director Matt Burchett's crew, and members of the Rocky Mountain Fan Force and Mountain Garrison of the 501st Legion, the X-wing traveled to Orlando. Crews at the Disney park, reportedly thrilled to have the X-wing there, put the starship together in "record time."
