    I saw it. liked it. I like the very beginning with Yoda,Saesee and Shaak Ti. I agree with you all on palpatine. His voice was way off. Obi-Wan's reminded me of the Clone Wars game not really Ewan's. Yoda was perfect.

    Does anyone have a few shots off yoda riding the taun taun with his saber ignited. I really love that pic but can't get a screenshot. And one of Shaak Ti for that matter. If anyone can I'd appreciate it.

    It was an excellent chapter!!!!

    Wow, just wow. I surely didn't think everyone's voice was going to be exactly alike so Palpy doesn't annoy me.

    I really liked Yoda riding into the battle on that creature, it looked ridiculous maybe but very cool and a great way to start the series. Go Yoda!

    The ending was unusually good. Lucas has an excellent story to use here (sercet marriage and drama) lets hope to see it exploited more in this series as well as episode 3.

    I have to agree with most folks that things are looking very good. I liked the summary of the Clone Wars at the start, especially Tiin's attack on a small battle droid legion. The camera was excellent there. Actually, I loved most things that were done by computer( ie. the Starfighters and such). It's also a very good introduction to the start, telling us a bit about what the campaign will be about.

    Still, I have a little question : At the start when Yoda runs into battle, Shaak Ti jumps next to him and begins running. Although I really liked this little detail, I noted that one clone troopers runs up right behind her, and he seems rather tall when compared to her. Although I'm not too familiar with the Shaak Ti characater, is she really that small?

    I thought it was interesting, although I'm expecting to see more in future episodes.

    One thing I liked, believe it or not, were the more light-hearted moments in the short (they managed to put in two as far as I could see). When Yoda was interrupted by Palpatine and when Anakin's cloak hit Threepio, I swear a slight smile came to my face. The light-heartedness was not excessive, not overdone, and not distracting. In fact, I like it.

    They should have hired Alexander Adams- he did an UNCANNY Palpatine voice for the audio book version of Cloak of Deception.

    >>Lucas has an excellent story to use here<<

    You mean Genndy.

    I don't know why people are complaining about Obi-Wan's voice. I thought he was perfect, as was Yoda's. Palpatine's was almost dead on, but not quite.

    Did you notice this episode began and ended just like Empire Stikes Back?

    I'd noticed the ending, but good call on the beginning! :D Now you mention it, it is very "Tauntaun on Hoth"...

    I actually loved the fact that the beginning and ending of the first episode parallels those of ESB. :D

    I agree completely that all of the voices are pretty much dead-on, except Palpatine. (Well, in all fairness I have yet to hear Anakin and Padme).

    As for Yoda riding a "Taun Taun": I don't think that's a Taun Taun. Take a close look. The Taun Taun's horns are curved downward, the creature that Yoda is riding has horns that point up. So it might be a similar species, but I don't believe it is a Taun Taun. :)

    Are you talking to me? I wasn't saying it was a Tauntaun. I was referring to how the start of the cartoon was indeed very much like the "running Tauntaun on Hoth" scene from ESB.

    Someone (Guff?) has posted the name of the creature, but I can't find the post.

    Yoda's voice was perfect, Palps was a bit too high but I guess it's ok. Obi-Wan's didn't sound like Ewan's but was a fine interpretation of what Obi-Wan's voice might sound like... if you understand my meaning...

    But yeah, I can't see Yoda on a Taun-Taun :p That made me laugh. Oh well, it was a good intro. Can't wait to see where all this goes :)

    Yeah, the Official Site mentions encore screenings at midnight (ET/PT) on their schedule (see that Farraday, the Mods didn't just make it up [face_plain] ) - though it appears some providers didn't rescreen them, as expected;

    <IMG SRC="http://www.starwars.com/clonewars/img/schedule/calendar.gif">

    Maybe the "encore on Cartoon Network" ambiguously refers to the streaming online version's posting time on cartoonnetwork.com?

    // shrug //

    Well the mods make up everything else so I figured there was a more then even chance.

    I'm still leary as to the autenticity of that screen shot though. It looks suspiciously like a cheap two thousand dollar forgery.

    now now be nice everyone. Yes, even you dp4m! ;) Trust me my man, that screen cap is authentic. Our mod is not trying to trick you. There should legitimately be an encore at midnight each night and i hope there is cause i can't watch it every night at 8:00.

    btw dp4m, you have done a great job moderating this thread ever since the clone wars shorts started. I'm pleased to see how active you've been in your moderation, especially considering you are only a single mod on this board. Keep up the good work! :)

    [face_laugh] farraday's hysterical! The dude needs to stop holding an e-grudge against mods at an internet star wars forum.

    Anyways, sorry man, but that just cracks me up sometimes.

    BTW, d00ds, the creature's name is a "Kibuck" that Yoda rides into battle... You can hear it on the commentary track (I think it was the Cartoon Network version).

    Yeah! A cartoon worthy of carrying the Star Wars name! I know that the lenght was the main complaint among most of us here. I was still getting pumped up(right about the time when Ben and Yoda were meeting with Palpatine) and then it ended.

    Kinda reminds me of that South Park were the boys race across town to see the trailer for the new Terrance and Phillip movie.

    On a more SW relevant note; I liked the scene when Lord Tyranus was selling Battle-Droids to the Quarren. This brings more intrege into the Mon Calimari/Quarren conflict, that was one of the factors that led to the Imperial conquest of Calamari during the Galactic Civil War.
