If they're going to start shooting now, how can they get it out within a year? Don't these effects-heavy movies usually take longer than that to make?

Given how much Fox seems to care about this film, I wouldn't worry too much about the effects. [face_plain]

They already have the finished films with effects. They just needed actors to shoot those parts...

Well, it is only March, effectively, right now. If the movie now hits in June, that is 1.25 years ;)

Granted, they planned to initially have this come out in March until they had to shuffle the schedule around for other reasons, so it's not going to be a film that requires the amount of post-work as a SW or Avatar film.

But if you look at the summer '15 list, none of those major movies have started filming yet (except Fast 7 for obvious reasons)- not even Avengers, Jurassic World or Terminator, which will obviously require much more post-work than FF.

Talking about the summer 2015 movie season, there's probably three surefire blockbusters in there. Everything else seems to be mired in the same stuff from 2013's season: generic, niche, or bloodbath casualties, and I'm including FF in there just because no matter how good it is, I don't think it'll be able to do the business of the other films.

    It'll do well.

    Big success.

    It'll bomb without Gibson.

    It'll do fairly well.

    Hard to say.

    Hard to say.

    Hard to say.

    Hard to say.

    Both should do well.

    Big success.

    Successes.

I'm going to make a bet. Ant-man's movie will be more critically and financially well received than Fantastic Four. I guarantee it. Anyone disagree and want to take that bet?

This is like every Rocky movie sequel with each one getting worse. This I believe is Rocky five or six.

Huh. Considering that in the sixth film, he has Rocky and Robert quote what they said in the fifth film. And at one point wrote that Rocky's brain damage was really a nasty concussion, that's a bit surprising.

Yeah, Stallone seems to like the idea that you could watch 1 and 6 back to back as one story/film with a 30 year timejump between "Yo Adrian" and Rocky standing over her grave.

But nothing with the principal actors, just background action plates in Africa.

Still, they are up to the point of filming -- whether principal photography or not -- which the FF, having not even finished the casting yet, hasn't even gotten beyond pre-production it seems...

True, but FF could literally be filming the same type of shots right now, irregardless of casting status.
