So they are going to screw up Doom again. That's the end for me. You could not pay me to see this film now.

Yeah, hate to say it, but this film is "DOOMED" to fail. Hell, Trank, may pull off a miracle and make a pretty damn good movie with this new "idea" for the F4. Still, people are already writing this one off. The F4 are also not a must see Super hero group. Famous, yes.

Include the fact that Marvel is playing dirty to get the film property back. They want it to fail, and it looks like they very well might succeed in getting what they want. If it fails, Fox will no doubt just let Marvel have it back. No use waiting another 10 years to try again.

Really can't see how Fox will believe they will make money here.

Scorched earth policy? Make the franchise so terrible with this movie Marvel won't be able to do anything with it as public perception will make even a good movie seem terrible by how terrible the past one was?

You know, if they explicitly make Doom a member of GamerGate, I might actually see this thing in theaters.

 

Invisible Woman won't have powers, she'll just set her online status to invisible to escape from trolls. Human Torch will flame Doom's blogs.

The jokes have been fast today. Mr. fantastic is Reed's sex chat room handle. Invisible girl is the name of the ugly guy Reed thinks he is sexting. The Human Torch defeats Doom with a firewall. Haven't seen any good thing parodies yet. Also the silver surfer is a grey hair surfing the web.

So Disney/Marvel: has Fox finally hit that point where the characters are changed so significantly you can sue to get the rights back? If not, that was one hell of a bad contract Marvel signed.

Doom hacks the Galactus iCloud and leaks Sue Storm's nude photos onto the internet, making her want to be an Invisible Woman, the Human Torch manages to stop him with a well placed firewall, and gets into a flame war on the internet by a user calling himself the SilverSurfer. Reed Richards gets catfished by someone who thought was Sue Storm but was actually Victor Domashev AKA Doom.

 

They'll make money, and quite a bit of it. And Fox won't "let" Marvel have the rights back. Marvel will have to pay - and pay handsomely - to get those rights.

Also, Marvel is the one that has to be careful from a legal standpoint. They can't go out of their way to sabotage a movie or they open themselves up to a truckload of liability. Cancelling the FF comic doesn't qualify as that, but they best not be getting any ideas.

They made their bed now they have to lay in it. They have no legal basis whatsoever to sue to get the rights back.

 

Somewhere a Disney executive is in a holoconference going 'I will make it legal' you know.

Fantastic Four being about ethics in video game journalism would be amazing and far better than whatever we will get. Make him a fat neck beard virgin living in his mothers basement, playing Call of Duty all day, while hating women and being terrified of them.

Is Josh Trank still going to do one of the SW spin-off films, or is it dependent on how his Fantastic Four film does?
