Always next time !! (does Mrs H not fancy a holiday in Northumberland ??)
No Mrs. H! Don't take my halibut away...
Guys - i might be late to this, if i get all my footie membership stuff sorted its Spurs Vs Sunderland - i'll just be down the road!
Lol. Another football match
I am probably going to change to a maybe for this now - there is other stuff I may have to spend money on around the same time, including some European cons.
Oh, it gets better - I could be LARPing the day after!
Ahh, hobby juggling...it's a full time sport.
Can you believe my LARP crew this weekend said I am more of a geek than them for going to C:E?
Is it worth still going ahead with this?? I'm just thinking in the light of the rather rubbish summer we're having and a few people possibly not coming...? I don't mind either way.
It may be worth doing another roll-call of who still plans to come and for those people who'd be travelling from out of the area, it'd be worth knowing when you want to come up, so I know how long people intend to stay.....
I asked My partner last night about it to see if he would come !
He would But He wouldnt stay over in the tent or wear a H/Shirt
Im still up for it
I definitely still want to come along - I can stay or go if there isn't going to be much room!
1> Suzi (else we're all screwed!)
3.Dave ( if enough room to pitch a small tent )
Well, so far Tim has been the only one to drop out. And if the weather's bad we can always sort something out for indoors.
I won't be there either, Spike
Whoops, sorry, forgot.
Tim and halibut have dropped out. But so far everyone else that has signed up (and that's most of the people in the North) are still up for it. If we cancelled meets everytime a couple of members couldn't make it we'd have no meets at all
Plus this is our important yearly social event.
halibut and tim. I dropped out first
Suzi are you still happy to hold this meet? I'm still up for coming but I'd hate to intrude if your hearts not in it.
i'm up for it
*cough* I'm a maybe not a drop-out
you had better come!
I'm still happy to hold it, I just wanted to guage opinion.
For those travelling from further away, I'm off work all of the preceeding week, so you're welcome to come up whenever you want.
Well I would have come up early on the Saturday and left Sunday evening.
Right...how do people want to do this?
Do people want to meet up in Newcastle first on the Sat? I could meet everyone at the train station and take their gear back to mine in the car (then come back to Newcastle and join you all) then we all head back to mine later in the afternoon when we're done?
Re the food- shall I just buy everything and we split the bill by however many people come? Do people want to bring stuff themselves and I'll take it back to mine when I meet you all at the station on the Sat? There's an off licence just next to the Metro station where we'll get off to go to mine, so people can get their drinks from there...there's also an Aldi for any last minute food we've forgotten.
Any suggestions for what people want to eat?
Sounds good to me, though I'm not to borther about the food. I'll eat anything (edible)
i just sent you a long email detailing my plans....
re: food (the boards are annoyingly slow) i'm still thinking we should prepare most of it... i'm willing to do that actually... but then my ideas for bbq seem to differ from other people's. i.e. i go on about making salads (i find that a nice veggie option) and tim doesn't like salad what with being a (small) man. i'm not sure. what do you think?
i was thinking we do some veggie skewers and nice sauce to go with either meat and veggie stuff... and salads... and some nibbly foods (i love nibbly foods) and we'll do some punch possibly... some non-alcoholic as well. and then we can make wookiee cookies and also a MF cake... and that should really be it, no?
the guardian had a recipe for savoury biscuits which i can try at home home next week so i'll know if they are any good... etc etc.
and then we could talk about decoration that is a bit more SW themed if you like...
and then i'd say split the food bill unless some people don't like that. but it'd hate for everyone to bring stuff and in the end you're left with a bunch of steaks and 12 bags of crisps.
and can you switch off the weather?
