I'm not sure I like Season 5 so far. Season 4 was a hot mess and season 5 isn't starting out all that great. I hate that Peter and Olivia are on the outs again. Possibly not even married anymore. They had rings on during the flashbacks to 2015, but no rings in the present.
So, this is 13 episode final season, and episode 3 was 100% filler. Nothing of any interest or consequence happened at all. Bah.
#@$% you, Fringe writers!!!! I bet this is leading up to a complete reset of the timeline. Somehow, they're going to find a way to go back into the past and stop the invasion. I knew there was a good reason why I stopped watching in season 3.
This episode was the best in this season. Thank goodness. I have problems with the whole observer as baddie premise though. Great to see Riddick though.
I liked this one a lot. I knew: Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler Someone had to bite it. Expected Broyles or Astrid though. Great to see Broyles. Hoping we see Nina again. I also agree. A reset is happening. Guarantee it ends with them in that field watching Etta play sans Observer attack. Awesome to see nods to old cases yesterday. Really like what they've done so far. This definitely makes the head baldy a much more palpable threat.
The Bullet That Saved The World Spoilers (Move your mouse to reveal the content) The Bullet That Saved The World Spoilers (open) The Bullet That Saved The World Spoilers (close) No! I really liked Etta. Peter's gonna be on a rampage now though.
So, what was that thing Peter implanted? Does it let him time travel? I miss the other universes, alternate characters.
I don't know, I think it gives him Observer powers, so I'll be looking forward to Peter becoming more and more Observer like....maybe it's a tradeoff? You get all these awesome abilities, but it comes at a cost to your emotional/ethical core?
yeah the observer as baddies thing comes off as a particularly egregious case of "oh look at this mysterious element we've got... hmmm better have it go somewhere... what if they're INVADERSS" last-minute, tacked-on resolution to the mystery, damon-lindelof/LOST nonsense this season is deffo the worst thus far
I guess this is all just tacked on, as they wrapped up the universe rift at the end of the last season (to be fair I guess they were preparing for not being renewed). It certainly feels like an afterthought. No resolution with Nina / Massive Dynamic either.
I don't really see it as all that tacked on. The Observers are essentially an alien race, incredibly far removed from the human race we know now. It makes complete sense for them to 'Observe' modern events linked to the very kind of event that is pulling the universe apart, and when that is gone, you know, attack. It's the same kind of theory that people have about aliens. They're mostly observant now, but they might eventually attack. I personally love it. But that's just me. Oh and the theory going around that Peter is September is kind of amazing.
Best episode so far this season, probably one of the best of the series. The themes have never been stronger, the acting is great, and Peter's transformation is chilling.
HAHA Walter's Acid Trip was awesome. Great reference with the Black Umbrella reveal. I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it.
Walter's acid trip last week was fantastic. This week though: Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler NINA!!!!! Still, she went out on her terms in a badass way. Plus, good chance we'll see her again. Is it 3 weeks later yet?
