Tucson OFFICIAL HALLOWEEN PLANNING THREAD~Updated please read last post

I have made contact with the Foothills Mall.

The event kicks off at 6:00 pm.

Star 97.5 is the radio station involved and Shannon and GBo are the personalities that will be there.

We will be taken more seriously if we get a non-profit organization to benefit (ie food bank)

I am calling the Food Bank to see if they want help and can make arrangements for donations to be transported.

Why the food bank? Thanksgiving is around the corner. This is a great time to start out the season to boost up the food bank.

So far, those willing to be there are:

jada_marnew as Queen Marnew
vadersdad as Boba Fett
AoErat as Stormtrooper*
AJM as Dark Jedi

I think so, unless something dire comes up.

One thing though - Imperial costumes have very realistic weapons - that is a definate concern for me.

Also, some malls don't allow Helmeted costumes. This must be checked.

 

Please change me to Dark Jedi... I've changed my mind.

If the food bank doesn't want to support us, I can have my Boy Scout Troop (739) participate. They need an event...

The person I am working with at Foothills Mall is a SW fan. I told him about your armour and Boba Fett. I will double check.

Food Bank? Feedback? Anyone NOT like this idea? I'm waiting until tomorrow to call them so you can express opinions here.

 

I think the idea is great, but just in case, I'll inform my BST. Perhaps we could get the food bank to support us, the Boy Scouts to help us with the donations, and the free publicity... just kidding about the publicity.

I'm NOT kidding about FREE PUBLICITY. That is how we get on the map. PFF was sought out by the METRO Magazine for a photo shoot.

I told my contact that the only thing we asked in return was to be able to give folks our card with our web address and meeting date.

the BST helping would be good but would they want to on that night????

 

Of course, as their former Senior Patrol Leader, the guy in complete control, we got tons of offers from people and could only take a select number. I'm sure I can have Gerald throw something together...

I don't care who/what organizations we support (food bank, etc) as long as I all I have to do is march around and be a Stormtrooper.

 

But Mike! I told them you were a tapping dancing stormtrooper!!!!! [face_shocked]

Yeah, avoid pointing at the children, and this sounds like a fabulous idea. I have no idea as to the moment on my active participation into it because my life is sorta "rocky". ~*sighs*~ But I think this would utterly cool to get to see.

I've contacted Community Food Bank (BTW-do NOT try to access their website! It locks up your computer!)

They will be back in touch with me Monday or Tuesday . . .

 

Yeah, we need a definate y/n on this people. I need to prep, we need to plan, etc.

 

Count me as a "no". As I have said my real life stuff at the moment is horribly unpredictable and I hate to lead people on and such. Sorry guys.
