He's got long hair (almost a mullet)... sideburns... he's standing in a ship that looks cheaply made, simple and spartan... he's wearing a black glove and pointing.

The mods (thanks a lot, guys!) locked my other thread. So, who do you guys think Bai Ling is playing, since the OS leaked her on hyperspace?

 

She'll be some random person in the background I bet.

There are theories that she's gonna be Assaj Ventress, but I don't buy that. I think the rumored "EU character" in E3 will be a glorified cameo a la Aayla Secura.

Guys just backtracking on the Anakin EP3 pic, I've got a query.
Is Anakin still a Padawan Learner in EP3 or has he become a Knight? I only ask because I dont see a Padawan braid anywhere in sight on that pic.


And Bai Ling? What is she? Some martial arts expert or? She might well play a Jedi.
I sincerely hope its not Assaj Ventress, because Lucas has always been pretty Black and white where it concerns Jedi and Sith.

 

I don't think it's ever stated what Anakin's rank is, but I'm willing to bet he is what Monty Python and the Holy Grail would call a "kanigget".

The official site (non-Hyperspace section) tells us Bai Ling will be playing a Senator.

"We'll have no more of this Assaj Ventress gibberish!"

Having such a significant EU character in Episode III would bring cold feelings to my heart.


* disclaimer: I'm not against EU or its characters being in III. But someone as important as Ventress would have to do something important in E3, which would take away from Dooku and Sidious and (!) Vader... or just sit in the background, which would feel random. "Oh, hello, Sith Witch."

I am unfortunate enough not to have Hyperspace, being British and too young to have a credit card and reading your comments about the recent sighting of Hayden in his new Anakin outfit has rather scared me.
I prayed that he would not go down the Ewan McGregor mullet route, but alas it seems he has

 

He doesn't have a mullet! and he's not in a spaceship either (as stated above)! It says he in a hallway or something. I think Anakin looks cooler in Episode III.

 

I think we should wait until we have more than one blurry picture before we start judging things.

 

Right now, the camera appears to be in the creature shop.

It looks like there is some sort of Yoda in the background. Maybe this means the puppet will be returning for part of Episode 3. It was a viking Yoda for a while, but they've since taken the viking helmet off.

There also is what looks like a Mon Calimari (Admiral Ackbar?) mask or bust.

 

The puppet Yoda could just be a reference (ie. eye co-ordination for actors, lighting reference for CGI, etc.)

 

Yeah, according to the the latest news article, the Yoda is just for reference. It's a Yoda head, on Yaddle's body. It also says that according to ILM, Yoda's height is 2'9"... but every other official source lists Yoda's height as 66 centimeters... 2'2".

Hyperspace also announced a couple more "chats". Rob Coleman will be on Wednesday night, and Rick McCallum will be on again Thursday night.

Some tidbits from the Rob Coleman chat:

New droids; plus, battle droids, droidekas super battle droids to return.
Bigger monsters.
CG Yoda model will not be changed.
There'll be an opening space battle.
Huge battles.
New variations on the troopers. They'll still be digital.
Action sequences for Yoda.
More effects in general; more CG.
Didn't like The Matrix Reloaded.
He's a boxers man.

I'll update this post if anything new and cool comes up.

He played the drums in high school. (Whoever asks these questions, I hate you.)
The sequence he's always wanted to see in the PT will be in Episode III.

That is just a very bad idea. Completely ruin the impact of that scene in AotC unless, of course, it's action in a different context (perhaps he's running away from something). Stupid, stupid idea IMO

Ah, what do I know... I think the best Yoda 'action' scene to date is his 'duel' against R2 in ESB.


EDIT: From today's Hyperspace set diary: They shot a scene involving Mon Mothma, Bail Organa and a few senators (inc. the ones played by Bai Ling and Warren Owens... and a blue Twi'lek).
Threepio served drinks in said scene.

Great. Maybe the Rebellion forms because Mothma and Organa get drunk and decide, hey, let's raise some hell.

Well I didn't expect Yoda to just watch a) the Clone Wars end, and, b) his fellow Jedi get murdered and for him to scuttle off.

Ok I'm wrong about that, there'll be different troopers but not ARC troopers....they were EU anyway....

 

Well, perhaps we won't see the actual forming of the Alliance to Restore the Republic -- but it should be a given that good people like Organa and Mothma would at least exchange ideas on how to deal with the unwanted changes in the Republic.

They'll at least share some "This sucks, Palpy is evil" thoughts.


As long as they don't go from a political discussion to rolling in the grass!
