There needs to be a scene where Chewie tries to teach Han how to speak Wookie. Oh...would that it were so simple

I'm okay with this, and I wish him the best of luck. It's a huge role and the opportunity of a lifetime, so I hope he kills it and proves any naysayers wrong. And congrats; he's filling some big shoes, but what shoes they are.

I am also okay with this. He ran away with Hail Caesar! A fine young actor.

Now, please don't let this movie suck!

I've never seen any of this guy's works yet so I'll try to be optimistic until I get a chance to see some of his films.

Yes! The Han Solo movie no one asked for, but everyone will still go see.

I'm quite optimistic. Lord & Miller, Kasdan & Kasdan with Ehrenreich starring. Every choice has been right so far.

Honestly, I don't see why this movie needed to happen, but that doesn't mean it can't be good.

    Now we wait.

I don't think that would work out so well for me. Unless they plan to do a gender swap. ;)

The movies never focused on his height, but I bet they'll make Chewie shorter to match the height difference lol

With so much at stake here, gotta go with the Heath Ledger argument, which is to remember what people said about him initially being cast in his most memorable role. Based on that, you gotta give anybody a chance.

Impressive. Most impressive. Hopefully, he doesn't get delusions of grandeur, and knows how to fly casual.

Among the list of 10 or so actors they had been considering, he's definitely the best actor, IMO. And he can do comedy. He's also got that old school Hollywood movie star look, which connects him to Ford. So this is good.

ETA: Trailer #2 for Hail, Caesar! pretty much makes the case for Ehrenreich as Han, IMO.

Hopefully he gets a good story/script and not some Disney-fied version of Han's younger self.

    Oh, wait...

(Can't always blame the actor. See: Ahmed Best)

Your thought matches my own, but I don't think I've seen his work yet. I'll be rectifying that soon.

EDIT: He looks like a young Brando IMO.

I'm very happy with this casting. I think he's going to make a great Han Solo. Now it just needs to be officially confirmed... We're waiting, Disney. :p

Lifts and a nose prosthetic for starters. And he will need to lighten his hair and perhaps slim down the large eyebrows. The jawline shape is way off, sadly.

The resemblance is very weak and much more so than all of the Young Indys were.

River Phoenix and Sean Patrick Flanery weren't total deadringers for Ford (though Phoenix had already been cast as his son in Mosquito Coast because they did bare some resemblance), but they had some basic physical similarities in facial shape, coloring and not too small of a nose. These were decent castings and acting ability was obviously considered, as well. Both shorter (though both taller than Alden), but one was playing a 13-year-old version (despite being older). I'd have been thrilled if we'd have gotten someone in the Young Indy level of ballpark, looks-wise.

Wasn't there a single 5'11"-6'1" medium brown-haired, long/slim-faced (not a square jaw), slim-build, masculine young male with a large-ish nose in Hollywood's acting pool? Almost none of the actors they seemed to be looking at were these things.
