I posted this in the main thread, but it's actually more related to Alden's new take on the character. This is my quick interpretation of the new outfit, based on the leaked photos:



To me, it looks like someone who's working in maintenance of some sorts for the Empire.

 

Wow. I never thought that young Han Solo looked like a cheap folklore entertainer from german television.
I hope he does not start to yodel in the end.

 

That's a Harrison Ford thing. Fight the Good Fight, and get beaten up, and afterwards be all vulnerable and lovable.

 

So Alden is playing the outer space version of Bob Falfa from American Grafitti? That's pretty clever. He's like a country ****kicker... I'm very impressed.

 

I love Finn. I just hope they aren't retconning Han Solo, to be modeled after him.

So the entire beef comes down to L&M making Han too much of a comedic character and Kasdan opposing it?

 

Also, it seemed that L&M may have brought on the acting coach to help Alden meet the style they were going for (as the coach was someone they used in their past films). So it may not be that LFL wasn't happy with his performance. It may be that LFL was unhappy with the type of performance L&M were trying to elicit from Alden. An article like this does more to obscure the issue than illuminate.

 

Please just cancel this abomination and do an Obi-Wan film.

 

Yeah not gonna happen.

 

I don't like the blatant attempt to cash in on feelings of nostalgia for a dead character. The film is destined to fail because it has no genuine artistic purpose for its existence. There is no point to making it except to cash in on a character whose original actor learned to hate the role.

But enough about the Kenobi film...

 

"Why would we want to see one of Han's many adventures as an up-and-coming scoundrel? That's boring and stupid. We don't need this movie! What we need is a film about an old guy in a desert not doing anything for two decades. That's the kind of high octane excitement we've come to expect from this series. Also Ewan McGregor sneezed today which means Lucasfilm is any day away from announcing it; my heart says they're talking to Nolan, Kubrick, Fincher, and Hitchcock to direct. This means it's true. It'll be great. So much better than this "film" starring All-dumb 'EH'renreich as Han Nolo hahaha my mom thinks I'm clever."
