Jiang Wen's bigass gun! (LOL sound so dirty)

I'm not a big SW weapons aficionado, and I know most of my figures as a kid ended up just randomly holding the wrong guns, I never payed much attention,. but I know there are sticklers for this kind of details on these forums.

So I couldn't help but notice Wen's Weapon (lol still sounds dirty ), has what (at least visually) looks like a machinegun style heavy duty amo-feed-cartridge-chain system.
Is this unique to his character?
Or
Have we seen this type of gun before?



You can see his hand resting on the grip, and the "amo-feed" wraps around his legs.

For a different look at it, I believe there's a couple of extra versions of it, sitting on set.
One on the closet orange crate sitting alone.
The other on the black-draped table, where you can among other things also see two props of Donnie Yen staff.



Either Way, I thought it was a unique looking prop, and with little other news out there, thought I would draw some attention to it.

Thanks for pointing that out Breogan. I'm looking forward to his character too. I may not be familiar with his work, but no matter. He looks like he'll bring the heavy armaments to the table and then some.

Looking forward to his character even more now, as my previous post implied.

 

Unlikely as it is but i'd love it if he was a former Clone Trooper like Rex in Rebels, it's probably not too much of a stretch to have him portray an older clone of the Bodie Taylor young adult clone.



I suppose it's more wishful thinking...

I don't know, when was the last batch of those clones created? Weren't some supposed to be still in service in ANH? Anyway Jiang is 53, how old are Rex and his buddies supposed to appear to be in Rebels?

 

Looks like he has a Ghostbusters proton pack on. Don't cross the streams!

 

I love the look of this guy. Something tells me he's destined to be a fan favorite. Along with Donnie Yen.

As for wanting him to be a clone, please no. I'm so darned sick of those guys. Let's leave them in the TCW and Rebels era, and move onto something new.

 

Made a bet with some guy on Reddit who was 100% sure this guy was a clone. Easiest bet I'll ever win, I mean the guy is asian lmao.

 

Ah, heavy weaponry. I am looking forward to Jiang's character even more than Donnie Yen now.

I did after the edit time on my post ran out...

 

I'm in a forgiving mood, so no worries.

 

It's exactly the other way around for me, I'd rather have clones in pretty much everything that's Star Wars because they became my favorite part of the whole saga. That said, if he was a clone, a dream would come true for me. I don't believe it will happen, though.
But no matter what, I'm so looking forward to this film. So far, Jiang Wen's and Donnie Yen's characters are this fangirl's favorites. Don't know if that will hold because I need to see the movie to be sure , but ... well, I really want to watch the movie because of these guys.
