Rogue One [Official Info] Pao in Rogue One

Edwards says they fight with the "squad," which likely means a small ground unit, where they will be conspicuous (i.e. not a CG dot amidst thousands). So I imagine we'll see a decent bit of them being badass here and there (and possibly being killed). Minor characters can still have a significant impact, as we know with Boba Fett, so I'm not worried. I think we'll see more alien action than we did in TFA.

 

Don't forget how important minor characters can be. I just hope they get lines and closeups to really see what they look like

 

Ya that's a good point. Haven't seen much from the teaser, hopefully at Star Wars Celebration we will see MORE....

After seeing the behind the scenes video I believe Pao and Bistan are going to make a heroic entrance alongside Saw Gerrara to bail out the rebels on Scarif. They seem like heavily armed, heavily experienced BA's who are coming in all guns blazin

I must say, now that you mention it, that would be pretty bad ass. It would also make Saw look very credible rather than an old man with a limp who gives advice.

 

Don't understand what's "not credible" about an elderly dispenser of advice. I feel there's a whole lot of ageism in this fandom, where only the young and very physically fit are seen as valuable.

 

I mean to say that I hope that he doesn't only enter the plot to give advice. And that he shows he's a force or still has forces to be reckon with

 

yes this! Like he's an old war horse but he still has some kick and his men know it and show the same tenacity

Yeah, it is early yet to be wondering. Still, looking at these pictures, and that mouth... I'd been assuming his voice would be gravelly and resonant - Ackbaresque, I suppose. But more I think of it, the more I'd like to hear something softer from Pao. With apologies to Mr. Brown, and excepting his Midwestern accent, I wonder if Pao could sound something like this:

Though I'm hoping he speaks an alien language. I mostly prefer Star Wars aliens that don't speak English.

 

I agree, I hope you doesn't speak english. I think he should speak some alien dialect, it was weird with Ello in VII

I going to post this here too...just cuz he is awesome and I think this is him charging!

 

It looks like there's only about a dozen or so soldiers who land on Scarif (including our main heroes). I hate to bring up the rehash thing but it looks like they get through the shields by using a stolen Imperial transport as well.

 

I'm hoping he's a Barbel! Looks so much like Urtsk (a Barabel) from Dark Times http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Urtsk
