If it is a female Wookie; then I wonder why he would leave with Han Solo to be a smuggler? Especially if they are making Malla Canon? Why would he leave his family behind? Interesting.

 

Oh yes! I forgot about Chewies family being mentioned in Aftermath. Did it mention Malla by name though? I didn't remember any specific names of Chewies family being mentioned in the books. If this is true; then Malla, as well as Lumpy and Itchy, must be killed by the Empire, since Chewbacca leaves with Han.

 

Yeah, that's true. I still wonder why Chewie would leave his family behind? Even if Han saves him from Imperial slavery, I would think that Chewbacca would refuse to leave his family behind, if they were still alive, and enslaved. The Aftermath Trilogy leaves behind a lot of questions.

Well, TBF, Ron Howard himself actually says its Chewie.

 

When I was a kid watching the infamous Christmas Special, one big excitment was getting More Wookies.
This was a time when you had the one movie, and that was pretty much it. More Wookies made my little nerdy self gleeful. And then it dragged and dragged for 2 hours.

Anyway, just saying, More Wookies will make me a happy old man.

Ron Howard is IMO playing the situation very well at the moment, teasing little snippets (of albeit not much) is diverting some attention away from whats gone on.

 

Ron teasing with those pictures is putting me at ease and I have confidence in the film, something I didn't have even before the firing. So it's definitely working.

That's awesome. I had no idea they actually have the "hyperspace" effect on set for the actors to react to.

 

All of this social media posting by Howard actually is a pretty solid tactic. It's his way of saying, "I got this."
