I have no problem with a Star Trek-style TV series for Star Wars, th problem is money.

Disney might have money coming out of everywhere, but they still need to make back what they put into developing something. That is part of being a business.

The LAS is not financially viable with the budget Lucas wanted per episode, a series costing hundreds of millions of dollars would need to make that back in DVD & merchandise sales and even if it's hugely popular I can't see it doing that.

So either Disnety does it cheaper or scraps it and does something else.

My idea for the live-action series:

Open on Coruscant, on the night of Order 66. Smoke rises from the Jedi Temple as blaster bolts flash across it. Pan across the cityscape of the planet to an obscure street, where a small figure in a hood slices through pedestrian traffic at a fast walk. The camera follows her until she comes to a bridge. She looks back and forth, and, sure she isn't being watched, takes a thin cylindrical object from under her cloak and flings it off of the bridge. She continues on...

The next morning, stumbling a bit from fatigue and emotion, she makes her way through one of the planet's spaceports. Spotting a crew of Weequay traders, she cautiously approaches them:

Girl: Please, sir, help me. I've been stranded on this planet and have no way off! But I belong to someone, and maybe you know him. If you get me back to him, I'm sure there'd be a reward!

Weequay: A reward, eh? Well, I'm always open to that! But who is this... person I know?

Girl: His name is Hondo Ohnaka

Weequay: Hondo, eh? Sure, I know him, and I could arrange to see him soon. But, little girl, you had better not be lying to me. I can find other ways to make a profit off of you!

Girl: I know he'll be happy to repay... to pay you.

    Weequay: Well, come aboard then...

As the girl walks by, cut to a starry sky. Pan down, revealing Florrum below. A title reads: "Ten Years Later".

A pirate ship makes its way towards the planet's surface. Cut to the bridge, where, sitting in the captain's seat is a late-teenaged Katooni.

Katooni: This is where the fun begins!

Cut to main title: Star Wars: Underworld

    Well, it's a thought, anyhow...

The short answer is that I'd guess basically everything is on the table. Disney is probably having many, many meetings to decide what to do with Lucasfilm. I wouldn't particularly count on anything pre-Disney Lucas promised us happening, and I'm sure many things we haven't imagined will be announced.

That said, I'm not sure what the concern about Disney doing live-action TV is all about. Once Upon A Time looks pretty damn good to me, and if they made something that was up to that level of quality, I'd be satisfied. And Disney has way, way deeper pockets than the independent Lucasfilm did. So I see no particular reason to worry.

My two cents, the live action series will come out sometime after 7 to keep us hooked [face_hypnotized]

Disney has taken over companies before and allowed operations going on before the take over to keep going. The Fox Family buy out for example.

If possible, who would your choose to play the TCW original characters?

    My choices

    Ahsoka-The girl in Kick Ass

    Satine-Diane Kruger
I know her name is based on Nicole Kidman's character but Nicole does not fit TCW's Satine

    Mother Tazlin-Helena Boham Carter
    [IMG]

Ventress(Not TCW original but played a major part)-Charlize Theron

    The Father-Peter O'toole

    The Son-Richard Armitage

    The Daughter-Liv Tyler

Yes I love his Thorin but he could also do a good job on a villain.

Yes, even when he plays the big hero, he comes across as villainous. :p

However, does Megan Fox really make a good Ventress?

Wow, Charlize Theron as Ventress... I never would have thought of such a casting but I actually really enjoy the notion. She's just icy enough to make it work, though the thought of her bald is a little disconcerting

I always thought Satine looked quite a bit like Cate Blanchett:

Cate Blanchett is not pretty enough to play her, so I picked Diane.

Cate Blanchett as Satine is obvious. I think she's plenty pretty, and more importantly she's a fine actress who has already played royalty and played it well.

I don't really know actors and actresses all that well and I don't spend any time thinking about casting, so I'm having a hard time placing my girl Ventress.

    But I did find this:

Not a big fan, but she looks the part and is plenty crazy.

Diane also played Marie Antoinette well, and Satine is not a queen, just a duchess.

Ventress is definitely a tough character to pull off. I've seen a million cosplayers decked out as her at conventions over the years, but I can't say I recall anyone pulling it off. She's not your cookie-cutter pretty girl, which makes her so unique.

Cameron Diaz looks pretty creepy bald so maybe she'd be alright as Ventress. That's a tough one.

For Ahsoka I might pick Saoirse Ronan.

For Lux maybe Graham Phillips. Man Jason Napier looked like him in 04, but he's even older than me now. xD

Ali Farahnakian as the clones. xD
