Has anyone had any success in getting through to register for CIII badges?

I got through about an hour after pre-reg opened. An hour of persistence is all it took. (And much complaning, as well.)

Oh, and I suppose this is the part where I say "Hi, all."

Between the badges and hotel, it took me around 2 hours after it was all said and done...

Better luck to everyone else...

 

Not to gloat, but it took me something like 12 minutes or so. Try it around midnight.

Hello everyone from Cedarburg. (Close enough to Milwaukee). I'm not new around the TF.N boards, just a new user name. Trying to get myself more involved, and thought I'd come in here on the "local" level. Anyone else here from Cedarburg by chance?

Do you all accually get together and do things?

Oh, and as a side-question, (now that I'm asking on a local level), does anyone know who I would need to talk to, or where I would go to purchase a storm trooper helmet like the ones the 501st use? I know they make them, but I don't have that kind of equipment.

About a dozen of us get together on a semi-weekly basis for trivia at a local pub - however we are not allowed to discuss that here. We also have various parties and get-togethers throughout the year. We generally all congregate on a different board than this one. You can get to it here.

I was looking to find out exactly when St. Nick's is and found a website that talks about St. Nicks day in Milwaukee and saw a familiar name in the article.

I am also going to CIII (helping run the costume contests).

Are any of you going to be at Concinnity at MSOE? If so, we could get together to discuss doing something at CIII.

Unfortunately due to budgetary constraints, I won't be able to attend this year. Hopefully next year. Then there won't be a CIII to contend for my money.

 

Thanks for the reply. I am only affording Concinnity & Filmcon 4.5 because I don't have to pay. My S.O. and I have been presenting movie trailers/previews along with freebies direct from the studios to a number of Midwest conventions for years. As for CIII, I am part of the costume contest crew.

 

I think I'll also have to skip due to no money and no job. I've never been to that con either. Drat.

 

I hadn't heard of that con, but unfortunately I'm getting my wisdom teeth out on the 1st so I'll be out of commission that weekend. Probably just as well so I can save more money for Oddcon and C3.

 

Concinnity is held at MSOE in the school's union and is sponsered by MAGE, a student organization. They never seem to do a lot of advertising so it is fairly small. The main guest this year is Patricia Tallman (from B5).

 

Crap - I would love to see her - I'm a big B5 fan. I seriously doubt I will be able to make it down though.
