I'll start off by discussing the move by the Saints to sign Brees to a six year deal.

I'm not altogether convinced that this was a good move, as I think they should have picked Leinart in the upcoming draft.

Locking this in favor of the Official 2007 thread.

Dave Spadaro has actually said a trade for Javon Walker is a possibility for Philly. Spads is a front office puppet, nothing more, so if he says something is possible then it's definitely legit.

I think that Javon Walker would be an exellent weapon for Donovan McNabb.

You just want Iggle turmoil. :p

I like the Panthers signing of Kemo and Hartwig. The interior lines of both the defense and offense just got bigger and better.

This might be the only semi-positive Lions post of the year.....

They picked up another WR. Good for them. Hopefully this will be the experienced man they needed to lay the smack down on the other young guns they have who all have been shooting nothing but blanks. I guess they're going back to Harrington at the helm. At least that's their decision for the time being.

What does the 2005 season have anything to do with this year? It's history.

The 2006 free-agency trades are here, 2006 NFL Draft is almost here, and all of that is relevant to the 2006 season.

Well, then ask a mod to lock the other one. As long as the other one is active, you post there. I have no problem with a new thread, I was just asking about the other one. The 2006 season did start when free agency opened, so I'm all for a new thread.

    GEAUX SAINTS!!!

    That was George Teague. ;)

True Cowboys fans could never. ONLY the semi-fans that want a possible Super Bowl

What kind of fan (or man) respects a player who disrespects a team, its history and its fans and players?

    My Point exactly.

and this thread should have waited until the beginning of the '06 season.

That has always been the case.

The new thread was started a little earlier than usual, but someone above pointed out that since free agency has started and that directly affects the 2006-2007 season.

Apparently, the mods don't have a problem with it. They should lock the old one though.

-Edit- My points were already made while I was typing this post. ;)

My recollection is that the new season's thread typically starts on or around Draft Day, but Free Agency day is close enough. ;)

I should clarify what I meant. I don't respect TO as a person forever because of that, I just admire that particular action of his, no matter what else TO has done.. Any "disrespect" shown to the Cowboys is good with me.

As for the Michael Irvin incident, all I'll say is I was not one of the fans cheering. Just know if that you support "T.Owned" picture you're forever forfeiting your right to pile on Eagles fans for the Irvin episode.

EDIT: Jeff Garcia is visiting Philly today...whoopty doo. If we get him he'll probably be our last acquisition of the summer, since the FO has shot down the Walker rumors.

That has to be the biggest bonehead cut I've seen thus far this offseason.

I can't believe the Chargers cut Brees, and the notion that Rivers might be their future.

    I feel your pain. :(

Fatty Pasquarelli reports that Jeff Garcia has agreed to sign with Philly.

Good signing to fill the backup QB need, but I've got a feeling this is the Eagles last signing of free agency.

I was just thinking it would be cool if there were a way I could find out what percentage of my total post count is from the NFL threads.

Oh, they'll find some bargain bin player coming off an injury, sign him, and proclaim that they've "addressed the WR position".
