HamptRds, VA Official Nominations for Leadership 2010

    It's 1:24 AM (EST), January 14th.

    Official Nominations begin today. It runs through January 31st.

    The positions are President/CR, Vice-President, Secretary.

    Those HRR members eligible are:

    Jim Sznoluch
    Michael Shipp
    Alan Ibarra
    Lem Apperson
    Nels Mize
    Rick Csernelabics



    Ground Rules (see Charter - Article III, Section B for specifics):

    - A nominee MUST ACCEPT the nomination here in this forum. A nominee can DECLINE by posting in this forum or not posting at all by end of the nomination cycle.

    - Please be specific as to who you want and for which position. You can nominate the same person for different positions.

    - If there's a contest between different individuals for the same position, we'll open up Q&A threads for the candidates. That will run from Feb. 1st - 5th. Election by ballot takes place on Feb. 6th at the scheduled meeting on Sat. at Pretlow Library. Nominated member must win by simple majority vote. Outcome of the elections may not be determined until after the meeting due to counting of absentee ballot(s).

    - Absentee ballots would be PMed to Meriwyn by Feb. 5th. and counted by at least 2 other members outside of current Leadership (meaning, not counted by me).

    - No phone calls, no emails, no IM's, no txts, or other forms of communication will be accepted. If the person has the time and the desire to volunteer to take on the responsibilities, then they should publicly post their candidacy here.

    - If no nominations are made for a particular position by Midnight EST on January 31st, the individuals holding these positions will maintain their posts unless they choose to decline re-nomination, in which case they should make their intentions known during the nomination period. (This applies only to me for this nomination cycle.)

    - If a positon is not nominated, the leadership who is elected assumes and delegates that position's responsibilities amongst themselves as they see fit.

    - Unnominated positions will NOT BE APPOINTED to others outside of elected leadership.

    - Once the nomination/election cycle is over, it's over. No second chance. It's final.

    I would like to run for Secretary.

    I'll go ahead and nominate Nels for Pres. and Rick C. for VP

    I was surprised to see my name listed, but I know that if I'm elected a position that I would make a great effort to attend all meetings. The holidays were busier for me that I had expected.

    This would be the first time that I've experience the club's election process.

    I'll accept the nomination for veep!

    I know it is not neccesary to do so, but I'll second Nels for pres and Mike for secretary.

    Based on the responses above,

    President/CR - Nels Mize accepted nomination
    Vice-President - Rick Csernelabics accepted nomination
    Secretary - Michael Shipp accepted nomination
    Secretary - Lem Apperson declined nomination (did not post)


    Outcome:

    Without further adieu, since there are no positions being contested by 2 or more people, the nominees win by default.

    President/CR - Nels Mize
    Vice-President - Rick Csernelabics
    Secretary - Michael Shipp


    Through the course of the year, if any of you feels the need to resign, the responsibilities fall on the remaining leadership. An election can be called if necessary to fill the vacated spot(s).

    Your term runs from Jan. 2010 - Jan. 2011.

    With CV on the horizon, it's time to lock and load guys! Good luck!=D=
