*Official* Reversal of Fortune Thread (daily webstrip lead up to ROTS!)

If someone who is following the strips and remaining 110% spoiler free for RotS, how will they know that some of the things will appear in the movie?

 

cuz way back when, we didn't know that hyperspace would be spoiling our asses so much.

 

Oh yeah, this is definitely getting exciting. General Skywalker, Utapau, Tion Medon??!

It's sort of amazing how fast Anakin's moving through the ranks. I mean from Padawan to Lt.-Commander-General in less than 3 years. Well I suppose it doesn't really surprise me, in "Jedi Trial" they speak of his natural military genius.

 

Yes, it's a good combination.

Obi-Wan - the Negotiator. Anakin - the Hero Without Fear.

They can each use their individual talents to complement the other - no wonder they are the Republic's most effective military team.

 

Looks like Utapau must be a Separatist planet? Tion Medon at least knows who General Grievous is.

Grievous is choking three (!!!) other Utapauns (sp?) at the same time - I think he must be standing on one leg, and he says Medon can provide Grievous with a certain service he requires. Interesting.

 

I think I would rather wait to find out about Tion Medon until ROTS, but I guess it is too late now.

 

Perhaps it was a planet overtaken by the Separtists, which is why Tion is willing to help Obi-Wan.

 

Quite possibly - looks in today's strip like Grievous is storing the Separatist leaders and equipment there.

 

Hmmm....it appears that Tion Medon isn't exactly a hardcore Separatist sympathizer.

I wonder if the planet Utapau (?) has some connection to Jedi - Grievous tells Medon that if hears anything about Jedi on the planet, he's going to do some damage to Medon.

 

Indeed... why would Grevious assume there would be Jedi around? Even if Utapau was a Republic supporter... why would the Jedi even be there?

 

Does this strip ever become available for non-hyperspace members?

 

I don't think so, but you can always take a look for yourself.

 

I don't think the Jedi comment implies that there is some Jedi secret on Utapau. The Jedi are searching for the Seperatist leaders, a few of which are hidden on Utapau. Isn't that enough reason for Grievious to not want them snooping around there?

 

I like Grievous in this strip. He's a real jerk. And a bully. Hopefully he'll have some good dialogue in the film.

 

Well, according to Pablo, his favorite part about Grievous was his dialogue - I'm pretty pumped for it.

Possible foreshadowing today? Aayla Secura and Clone Commander Bly on the Intrepid, Aayla asks Bly "you still obey orders, right?"

 

Interesting, though I think using the name Bly is a bit over the top.

General Vos... as in Quinlan Vos?

Interesting. But this is what sucks about the EU not coming out in order. In the Dreadnaughts of Rendili we think he's back and he's with the good guys, but not totally sure, and then here's the webstrip, which tells us he's a General. *sigh* Oh, well I'm over it.

Rumor has it that he may be the EU character in ROTS. That would be fabulous.

And Aayla's pretty sassy, but let's get to some real action.

 

I thought Vos was already confirmed by Pablo as NOT being the EU character. Looks like I'll have to do a search.

Plus, there's the whole debate as to whether or not Vos actually IS EU, since he technically "appeared" in TPM first.

 

Actually, Rick said a character from the CW cartoons would be in the film... did we ever figure that one out?

 

Vos was in TPM? Where?

I bet this EU character is a minor background one we won't even notice. Perhaps someone who is only a background character even in the EU.

 

Well, it's kind of like revisionist history.

If you have the TPM DVD, check out the scene on Tatooine where (I think) Jar-Jar starts eating that thing and then it flies onto Sebulba's table.

Quinlan Vos is actually sitting at a nearby table.

You'll probably have to frame-by-frame it.

Just like Aurra Sing is in TPM too.

I remember all the rumors about AOTC and her appearance.

 

What was he doing on Tatooine? And wouldn't Qui-Gon have seen him, he walked right past.

 

I don't think it was planned out as Quinlan, but afterwards they took that character's looks and made him into someone important for the comics.
