Okay, since we are supposed to be talking about SOMETHING, I'll brag a little.

Tomorrow I am ordering my Azden SGM-2X Pro shotgun mic! So, here is the current status of my film:

    Camera: Check
    Audio: Check
    Audio Pole: Check
    Script: Check
3 out of 10 parts cast: Check (Gee, only 7 more to go... Hint, hint...)
    Costumes: In progress...
Lights: One down, four or five more to go.
    Sets:
    Lightsabers: Check
Locations: All digital. Just need big filming location to set up bluescreens.
Storyboards: Need re-done due to script and art changes.
    Props:
    Software: Check
CGI Help: Got one Lightwaver on board. May need another hand (or three).
    SteadyCam: Check
    Jib:
Tripod: Gonna buy a better one. On the lookout...

Wow, maybe I shouldn't have quantified things. Seems sooooo daunting. I'm at over a grand into this project at this point and there seems to be a million more to go. Hope my marriage survives this!

If anyone is interested in the script, there seem to be so few of us in the area, I'll send it to any who ask. So... ASK!!!

Need to get my excitement level built back up.

    Yo!

I'd like to be involved in any way I can. I don't know what the final scene involves, but how about Garden of the Gods?

What kind of film??? Are you serious? Anyway, it is NOT a banging sticks in the forest film. In face, the forest is just a side point in the film. Should be about 20mins in length when finished. If you want more details then send me an email to [Edit: I should know better than to post my email in a forum! PM me instead!] with your email address and I will send you a copy of the script (MS Word format).

Garden of the Gods is nice, but the final scene takes place indoors. I think I am going to call the Colorado Springs Film Commission to have them do some location scouting for me. If you have a rich relative with a fancy ballroom, let me know!

what parts do you HAVE cast and which parts do you NEED cast?

so you got a pretty nice sound system then?

Just curious (future planning for The Dark Path, haha).

Well, if you have the script, Padawan Jyro Kyrn, Jedi Master Phi-Mol Buco, and Ki-al Neeri are the only parts that I have cast.
So, I'll need everyone else! That doesn't even cover the boom mic handler, the cameraman, someone to watch over continuity and props, lights, catering, etc, etc, etc...
It is a bit overwhelming, but I am making steady progress.

Tested my new Azden SGM-X2 mic last night. WOW! That's all I can say. WOW!

Can't wait to really start shooting! So fart to go though.

It'd be my first time, but I could hanle the camera I think. What kind of camera are you using?

I could also fill a thug role or whatever else you needed.

    just say the word.

For fun, here are the pics of the Com Links and Lightsabers. The sabers are aluminum. See if you can figure out what parts I used on the Com Links! I wasn't going for accuracy. I was going for the "each Jedi would make his different" approach.

an audio guy would be great for the crew I'm sure (I don't know about for JK's flick, but when I get started on The Dark Path I will most likely need a sound guy).

JK: you think you could do the DP thing?

Yes, I will definately need an audio guy. Someone to run the boom and listen to the track for pops and noises. Possibly some cleanup in post as well. If you have access to a pro boom that we could borrow during filming that would be great too. I just bought a painters pole. I've messed with it and it is quiet enough, but doesn't have any adjustability for the angle of the mic.

As to DP... I'm not sure what that means, but what the hey, sure!

    DP = director of photography.

I was talking about The Dark Path. It will be quite some time before it's ready for production, but I was wondering if you were good enough with the camera to want to do the DP role? If not I'm sure I can cast you in there somewhere...

Getting great help from the Colorado Springs Film Commission. They are going help us find locations for this film. I only have them searching for one scene but I may have them look for others. It was amazing how helpful and willing to help they were. We should have some elegant places to work!
