The narrator should interject all the differences between the movie and the EU.
The movie would then be 369 minutes long.
And it should be Malcolm McDowell in the voice of Alex DeLarge:
"This is the real weepy and like tragic part of the story changes, if your humble narrator might say so! Viddy well, oh my brothers and sisters, viddy well!"
YES. And every single Lightsaber duel should be brutal and full of sexual imagery, played to Ludwig van of course.
Oh joy, Mark Hamill full frontal, sign me up.
He'll be performing Singin' in the Rain as he joins the Dark Side.
I would never stop watching that movie.
McDowell should play a villain who listens to the great composer Betwigg von Luthovyn to put him in the mood for a bit of ultra-violence
Yes and he should sing Singin' in the Rain when he's force lightninging someone.
So... how 'bout that EU - think it'll make it into the movies?
Welcome back to another lord of the rings extended edition
Yeah 4 hour SW movies!
There will be nods, maybe a character name here and there, novels set in the ST / movie novelization moreso. Full-on canon-fitting integration perfectly into the timeline? Nope.
Hell yeah! Disney let my dream come true!
Unfortunately, 2.5 hours of it is a really stylized opening crawl.
We would have to have a smaller 2 hour cut first, then wait for an extended cut like every other movies for dvd and blu ray. Most movies that come on Extended edition end up sucking really bad, except for the Troy directors cut and the lord of the rings extended edition turned out awsome as and the hobbit will be good too.
Terminator 2 had a horrible extended edition and the only good scene was when sarah connor had a dream about rease kyle!
Anyways I hope if the do a star wars extended editon of each of the sequel movies of episodes 7, 8 and 9, it better be good. But I think we have a 1 in a million chance of Star wars extended edtions and episode 3 should of been that way of an extended edition to show more details!
Actually, I've heard that the extended cut of T2 was quite good.
Who needs a narrator? All we need is a Ric Olie type character, stating the obvious every five minutes.
"And there's the Millennium Falcon. The whole building is one huge ship!"
Yeah but I hated it.
That makes me so sad.
Just trying to figure out what the hell is going on here. I am heading over to Topix.
New Star Wars movies... lots of people... talking. Hope that helps.
It started off as a discussion about how (or if) the Expanded Universe could fit in with the sequel trilogy.
Now... who knows.
lol... Okay back on topic.
Here's one of those random (whoa that could work and be wicked awesome) thoughts that occurred to me on hearing rumors that Benedict Cumberbatch was being cast (and everyone and their brother going THRAWN!)
Assuming the Zahn books are going to be allowed to function as a stepping stone between VI and VII (big assumption I know) it struck me that Zahn setup in Survivor's Quest the idea that Thrawn was back (I think even Zahn said, "One clone cylinder? He'd have a backup, wouldn't he?") but that idea was never really brought up and used in follow on books.
What if the new movies have a younger clone of Thrawn as Cumberbatch's Character?
Out there, I know... but I thought it was a thought worth entertaining.
