If you watch the behind the scenes for clone wars on the s2 boxset, it shows that Lucas would review every choice and episode idea before it would be put together.

 

So the new 4 novels will be the 1st "Cannon" Novels in Star Wars History? Wow.

 

So this means ALL future books, and video games, board games, TV shows, etc will be 100% Canon?

Yeah, I think a fair few of the story ideas were driven by him - the mortis stuff and possibly the fink Yoda episodes for example.

you can still enjoy all the previous eu. canon doesn't deny enjoyment.

 

I'm going to make a couple of guesses here:

1) It loosely ties into events which will appear in Rebels. Maybe he makes a guest appearance or two.
2) It could be related to one of the stories from TCW later on in Season 8. We know they were eventually getting to RoTS, and Filoni implied in one interview that the creative team wanted to explore a little beyond the film... maybe it's related to one of those stories.

Most of what i heard of the Expanded Universe would make horrible films anyway.

 

Still not as good as Glove of Darth Vader.

So would the new comic coming out next month titled Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir be the first comic that will be part of the new canon?

It was a story that Filoni recently said came directly from George Lucas and was supposed to be an arc that would have been part of TCW Season 6 if the show had continued.

 

Well I'm not shocked. Them saying the old EU is no longer canon was kind of inevitable after the announcement of Episode 7

Wookieepedia says it's adapted from actual TCW scripts, so I'd say yes.

This is just a guess, but I think as far as comics are concerned, the "new canon" will takeover when they make the switch to Marvel.

 

It will be, but they haven't said they will or won't publish new material under that banner.

 

Darth-Williams: oh not at all, wasn't offended I know he executive produced it and created it, just as he did with Indiana Jones, yet that is considered a triumph for Spielberg, I just find better continuity in EU books (even Zahn) than what I've seen in TCW. But I understand that with TCW you either love it or hate it,

As of today, the official, canonical story of Star Wars consists of "the six Star Wars episodes, and the many hours of content [George Lucas] developed and produced in Star Wars: The Clone Wars." (This includes the upcoming Darth Maul comic adapted fromTCW material.)
