    Most likely they will re-conceptualize the character and re-introduce her in some sort of canonical material.

    I mean they said this stuff all the way back in late 2012; they just made it official now.

    It deals with a lot of things some might find boring (politics) and there's a lot more scheming than there is action. However, I found it to be endlessly enjoyable and would suggest it to anyone.

    Dear diary, I was on my way to check on one of the vaporators that was causing Uncle Owne fits. I saw a womp rat chewing on some power cables on the condenser unit. I locked on to it with the guns on my T-16.

    Thanks. So it's Luke after Hope. Now that I look at the cover, I can't tell if it's a blue or green lightsaber. So why go back to these periods with Luke when you are about to tell the story Post-ROTJ? This would be the perfect time to introduction some new Post-ROTJ EU material. With that said a lot happen in those 3 years between Hope and Empire so it's going to be cool to see what Luke was up to.

    First I'd like to extend my condolences to anyone who was a big fan of the EU. I wasn't because deep down I always knew they didn't count, but read a couple for pure Star Wars enjoyment. But now, I'm really excited to get my hands on the EU going forward. It's all canon. And all connected. That is my hook. LOVE IT!! Can't wait. These are some fantastic years ahead for Star Wars fans. Bring it all on!!

    Does anyone think these new novels will tie in with VII?

    EDIT: I realize they don't take place near then, but I'm just interested since they are now "canon".

    Disney controls this. I don't imagine JJ having any say in the matter. I expect them to use the new EU to promote the movies and the Rebels series.

    I have an idea, why not make the the old EU and the new EU alternate realities. The New one Universe A and the old one Universe C (Give those Holocron continuity database a new use). Lego Star Wars could be Universe L, Marvel's old Star Wars book could be Universe M etc.

    Yeah, but it looks like they might agree with JJ's mystery box on this one, because "New Dawn" and "Sith" are pre-Rebels, "Tarkin" is pre-IV, and "Heir" is pre-V.

    We probably won't get a hint about the post-ROTJ state of GFFA until we get a brief plot description for VII.
