That's exactly what it is. I really don't understand why there's so much confusion on this point.

This is of course ignoring the fact that Episodes I, II, and III, were literally the first three parts of the story in chronological order. Safe to assume that "Episode VII" means the seventh part of the story, chronologically.

Less confusion than wishful thinking, I suspect.

Actually it would be the ninth Star Wars film. People have blocked out Caravan of Courage and Battle for Endor (shudder)

The hyperspace jump from the view of the cockpit just like in the OT. Not from the outside of the ship in the PT or am I remembering the PT wrong?

I think we see from within the cockpit during the PT. Maybe when Padme and Anakin are heading to Geonosis in EpII?

I alluded to this in my post above but:

You have Luke Skywalker, leader of a rebellion trying to restore the old corrupt republic to power. Oh, and he's also a jedi knight and wants to restore the order that helped bring about the rise of the emperor.
And better yet, Luke's and Leia's father was once a sith lord.

Would the galaxy sit back and want those two in charge if the truth about their family tree were known?

I remember Obi-Wan's ships in AOTC and ROTS just showing us the ship jumping into hyperspace. Not sure about the others. I hope they bring back the cockpit view of jumping to hyperspace. That was one of the best parts of the OT.

7 should be a coming of age story, where a character is forced to make a choice between their old and new lives. It's just how Star Wars works.

Basically its the first star wars movie of the next generation. The first film of the 2nd generation of star wars movies. Featuring new actors, new composer, new director & new energy.

Instead of making the new generation of movies about Jedi & Sith, the creator should go the war route & base it on a team of troopers trying to accomplish a mission. We never get to know any of the troopers on either side, they were just faceless pawns in the first generation of films, now that we are starting over with a new adventure & new story, let's showcase other factions of the Star Wars Universe.

Has it ever been established what is the typical lifespan of a Gungan?

We know that Jar Jar Binks is alive & well at the end of RotS, and his Wookiepedia entry says he's still alive at the end of RotJ. If (big if) Ep VII is set 30 or 40 years after RotJ, would Jar Jar still be alive then?

I really would like to see Jar Jar in Ep VII. I want to see him die!

[face_sigh]Everything we have learned about this new trilogy since the announcement was made yesterday concerning it points to exactly one thing: it is going to be a direct continuation of the existing Saga, with George Lucas having passed the 'SW baton' off to Kathleen Kennedy and a new generation of filmmakers who will carry his legacy forward. Not only have the new trilogy's installments been publicly referred to as Episodes VII, VIII, and IX, we also have information that they were referred to this way in private by Lucasfilm employees (back in June) and by George himself (in a conversation he had in August with Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher).

The Great Hyperspace War, the Great Sith War, KOTOR era or the New Sith War.

The stories are well written and epic especially the Great Sith War and KOTOR1&2, and we totally don't have to worry about recast/old cast's problem or the problem of explaining tons of stuff in post RotJ era.

Agreed. The Clone Wars theatrical release was not meant to count as an "Episode".
